I can't view posts from the message list at WLC.  "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" message keeps popping up.

Also noted this response from my attempts using Mozilla:

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'StudentID ='.

C:\HOSTING\WEBHOST4LIFE\MEMBER\WORLDLOV\MESSAGES\../Util/UtilGlobal.asp, line 140"

Is this a cookie related issue?

Thanks.

In laymens terms, that's a problem with accessing the data you are looking for. "Syntax error (missing operator)" is a problem in the query string.  "'StudentID ='." means it's trying to get info from the "StudentID" field, but it isn't finding it. Pretty much the query is missing some info it needs to find the info you need.

"C:\HOSTING\WEBHOST4LIFE\MEMBER\WORLDLOV\MESSAGES\../Util/UtilGlobal.asp, line 140" means it's on this page on line 140.

I highly doubt he is using cookies for this, but it is technically possible. When programming I always use session variables and query strings to bypass people paranoid of accepting cookies. Even if he is using cookies and your cookies are turned on, then it's not on your end.

Believe it or not, I could write a book on explaining this simple error. Hope you catch the drift though.

Papi... I read you were looking for a developer.
That's my trade; and though I am not bidding out jobs, I'll gladly throw you my 2 cents if you ever need it. Unless of course it becomes work. haha!

Doombug, try logging in with ID and password first - that should solve your problem

Thanks, papi.  That worked.

It was a cookie problem.  I'd cleaned out my temp. files and browser, and apparently so went the cookie(s).  Re-logging in reset it.

I guess this is where experience works backwards.... starting at the most technical rather than the most simple. I can see how it could be a cookie issue, but my programming style is totally different. I never use cookies. Then again, that's a debate for someplace else.

Thanks for your tip, also.

Papi's was one I could immediately act on, so I ran with it.

Otherwise, I would have followed through with your deciphering of that error message.
