Pete, I stumbled across a full page ad in El Pais last week for Dell - Colombia. I don't think there is a store in Cali (maybe Bogota or Medellin?), but it looks like you can order (and configure it) online and have it delivered. Here is the address:

http://www1.la.dell.com/content/default.aspx?c=co&l=es&s=gen&~ck=bt

You can probably find better deals in the US but you can't beat it for convenience.

CAUTION: Before you purchase one, remember one thing! Laptops tend to grow legs and walk away very easily in the US, so being that this is Colombia...

Try Costco. I work with a guy who bought his Laptop at Costco, they have a 6 month return policy. Every 6 months he returns his computer and buys a new. He gets the latest for the same money.

Yeah, aint' it the truth. No, in all seriousness, I have a calena who is hot for me, and I have to go see her soon!  She is so great looking, but no 38DD.  But, I still prefer the "natural boobs" to the fake 38DD.  Now, earlier on, I was writing emails to a chicka, and I am almost certain hers are au natural, and I am talking about a serious chest!  But, she and I just didn't have everything going for us that me and this other gal does. So, with a heavy heart I must admit that "man can not live by tits alone"!

Check Bizrate, click on the "Price" header in the price column to see lowest to highest priced models (in case the link below doesn't set it up that way).  Reviews and comparison pricing can be done there, too; and at the bottom of the page are links to retailers.

Pete,
Check your email at AOL.  If you did not receive it, then I will send it to hotmail, or wherever you want it.

Pete, I get employee discounts on IBM Thinkpads.  I can get you a T42 with 512mb of RAM for $1299 plus shipping to whoever it would be who'd be bringing it down.  It's about a $500 discount.  Dell is probably cheaper but I personally like Thinkpads.

It comes with a Pentium M which although the clock speed is slower than a Pentium 4, it outperforms them in many cases in notebooks.  I think M stands for mobile but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Make that 512MB of RAM minimum

I've recently seen a couple of Notebooks from Acer that was quite competetive and not to pricy.

I even followed a little service-story (bad led for built-in wifi). They exchanged the whole motherboard with a fresh one.

Another important thing is to be aware of "heat-issues" and Intel based (CPU) notebooks still do better than AMD's.

They cost a little more but heat will be an issue in your corner of the world.
