Hi Jeff and Jon,

You are right! The Renaissance Fairs probably attract the most weirdoes. Although I haven't been to a Star Trek convention yet. LOL Some of the people are "professionals" that travel with the fairs. They usually take place on the weekends so that the more "normal" people (like Lori and myself) ;o)) can attend or participate. My interest is mainly that I am a history buff (medieval and Scottish weapons and musical instruments). I am not into living the lifestyle. ;o)) My son had music and history teachers that participated in our local Renaissance Fair. He got an "A" in each class for visiting them. Ok...that's it...I'm a freak, and I'm running away with the fair. I want to join the "Mud People." ;o)))

Hi Lori,

It sounds a bit like my ex-wife's husband. He doesn't know much about horses, but he has all the latest Western fashions. I hear he is one hell of a line dancer. ;o)) I  like the guy however. He keeps my ex out of my hair. ;o)))

Hi Zeb!

I think you did just fine by taking the high road. I wish I could have been there (just for the brew of course)...;-)

I don’t think you are under any obligation to buy her a ticket or put her on a plane. After all, she did say she wanted to try and make it on her own, right?
