Carrisse, everyone has their own method for healing. Like Zeb said, at least he'll sleep good tonight. I'd be willing to wager that he gets over it a lot faster than most do.

And take it easy on Hum. You'd probably have a hard time getting over it too if you lost your only vacuum cleaner to a gold digger :-)

OBTW, I see you're plugging Boeing again on here. Sounds like more spam to me (ROFL).

Quite frankly...his plan could have been a whole lot colder than it was.

You feel Helen's pain because you're a woman???  She left Zeb to go to a motel room so she could spend a week boinking another guy. I don't think any of the men here would have been feeling Zeb's pain if Helen had dumped him because HE left her alone for a week while he checked into a motel to have sex with another woman.

Hi Allan,

You cut right to the heart of the matter in 3 lines. You are absolutely, 100% correct in my book. I would feel no pain if it was the other way around. I don't believe in defending my species, sex, race, religion, political party affliation, relatives, kids, or myself, when we are wrong.

Helen has been here for just a month. She's engaged to Zebson (her passport to America). He has paid for her way over here and she's staying in his house. But now she's in the arms of another man.

I think she planned it even before she got here. I feel what Zeb did was just. I don't know where she got the courage to do this stupid thing. Maybe she thought Zebson will never find it out.

Yes, I'm also a woman but I will not tolerate or give compassion for what she did. I feel sorry that she would do such a foolish thing.

my .o2 cents.

It's nice to hear the thoughts of an objective and thoughtful woman.

CARRISSE:

Zeb, you could have killed her with kindness. But hate has overtaken you and its too late for that now. All I can say is you've given her the reasons to justify her behavior.

STEPHEN:

I'm not sure I grasp what you are getting at.  It sounds like your approach would be for Zeb to play dumb and be real sweet.  Helen would feel guilty that way.

However, now that Zeb has kicked her out she will feel that she is justified in her behavior.

Remember that there are some people that kindness does not work on.  They think that your kindness and graciousness just demonstrate how stupid you are.  So the go ahead an justify their behavior that way.

I think that her behavior should have been confronted.

Perhaps you could clarify your thoughts for us.

Stephen,

I agree! Kindness only works on people with a conscious and a sense of guilt. Kindness doesn't kill cold hearted people. They despise you more and consider you weak and stupid. Helen wanted to be on her own. Why should Zeb enable her in any way now? He is simply giving her the independance that she wanted.

And remember this, as a biology metaphor.  "Independent" or "free-living" is the opposite of being a parasite.  Zeb shook Helen free before she gained strong enough grip of sinking her teeth into is flesh.  If she was allowed to gain a firmer stronghold, Zebson's blood would have been sucked dry and he would have died (metaphorically speaking).  Zebson would have lost his sanity, dignity, and financial well being, as well as probably his health.

What Helen did was wrong.

There are consequences of wrong behavior.

If others shelter her from these consequences then it does not teach her to do the right thing.  Sometimes....the best therapy is to let people taste the reward of their own behavior.

Zeb did the right thing.  He acted in accord with reality.
