Ok, this is a live report from Cali. The context: I have had 8 beers, one Kamikaze, and a double of te-kill-ya!
If you want to take your date to a great place SHE will enjoy, take her to Blues Brothers Bar on Thursday around 11 pm. You will see one of the best Salsa bands in Cali. The "chicks" really dig these guys. Although I am tone deaf to Salsa, I can appreciate the sound from these guys. The bongo player is well renowned in Cali and the surrounding areas and the girls go nuts go over the guy. The trumpet player is top shelf.
Tell you what, I'll take some photos next week and post them next Friday on LatinModelos.com so you can see what you are missing out on.
Tuesdays aren't bad either with the same band playing Jazz.
Ok, gotta hit the sheets.
Take it easy, y'all.

A little more info. About 3 to 400 people showed up tonight. Why do I bring this up? Because if you want a "no-pressure" date where your date will feel comfortable and truly have good time, Blues is the place to go.
Just my observation from Cali.

Great info on Blues,  and a very good point about "no-pressure" options while in Cali.  I get a kick out of alot of these agencies that advertise their gal to guy ratios.  Hell alot of guys buy it and are happy with it.  But just imagine how many gals in Cali don't belong to an agency.  I'm not knocking agencies - they are a very good option for guys who want a safe contolled environment and don't know anyone in Cali.  But where to meet local gals outside of the agencies?  Well, I guess you could start at unicento or chipi during the day, avenida sexta at night, or - I'll throw in my 2 cents about another great option for nightlife and the chance to meet hundreds of local gals in a "no-pressure" environment:

I often "hit the town" with my wife's girlfriends, but rarely do we end up in Cali proper.  Not by my choosing, rather the gals always want to hit the rumba scene in Juanchito on the other side of Rio Cauca.  Here is where you can find some of the best clubs not just in Cali, but IMHO the world - all kinds of local rhythms (not just salsa) and they don't close early like in Cali (they passed a law "Ley Zanahoria" a while back in Cali to close the clubs early with the logic that it would stem violence).  Even if you don't dance you'll have a blast - Juanchito is the place for local night owls on the weekends (I believe the clubs stay open until 6:00 a.m. but I never made it that long to witness one close).

I stayed there till 8:00 am one night. It was a blast. Cali clubs close at 2:00 and after living in NY and now the DR, where coming home at 4 or 5 is not unusual, I preferred Juancito.

The time restriction on clubs and bars within the city limits of Cali used to be midnight by order of the mayor. (A big reason he is not going to get re-elected this time) Then it went up to 1:30 AM for a couple of months. But as of last night, the restriction is back up to 2 AM.
The club and bar owner's argument is, if the FARC or ELN blow something up in the countryside, why should the business owners in Cali have to pay for it. The order the mayor passed down about closing clubs and bars at midnight put a number of places out of business. Blues lost half of its income when this was inacted. There was such an uproar about it, President Uribe even came here to see what was going on. Soon after that visit a compromise was established for a time. Closing time was midnight from Sunday to Thursday. 1:30 AM on Friday and Saturdays. That lasted about a month. Then it just went to 1:30 for all days. Now it's back up to 2 AM. It used to be 3 AM.
The funny thing is, if you call the police to find out what time closing time is, they aren't sure. If you call DAGMA (Sound Police), they aren't sure. If you call the Alcohol Licensing Board, they aren't sure. No one knows for sure. Hell, of a way to do business.
