Airfares are hard to figure.Competition seems to keep them low untill some airline stops wanting to compete and reduces flights. And their pricing policies are bizare. think the general theme is get all the higher paying customers you can before selling tickets cheaper.Seems like price fixing to me.
Whats happening right now I don't know.American airlines is back from the verge of bankruptcy.I heard a stock analist
saying fares were still too cheap. But certain routes can buck the trend.
Hmm,wonder how long untill Southwest Airlines starts flying to Colombia.Probably never. But they have great rates every where they go and give you no hassle at all about using coupons you can buy from other people.Wholesalers are offering $175 for AA round trip anywhere coupons. Then trying to sell them for $350.If you could by them from the source for $175 what a deal.Southwest flies to Fort Lauderdale, about 20 miles from Miami International.
Also on the West coast Taca - Laxa has a red eye that flies through El Salvador,Costa Rica and then to Bogota. Its about $500 all the time,I paid $600 to Cali,an extra flight, but it was a huge hassle. But if other tickets got over $900 or so I would use them again.
I'm talking out of San Francisco. If you can get to Miami cheaply you should be able to fly to Cali or Bogota for $400-500 from there.
