Calipro,
    I have seen you and a few other posters mention that keeping a woman in her country if you can, is better than bringing them to the U.S. Why?

When I was in Cali a year ago there was a retired doctor (mid-50s) working the agencies for a woman.  He had bought a farm in Peru and wanted to find a Colombiana to help him run the farm.  No US residency in the deal.  He wasn't even going to marry her.  He was honest with them about his plans and he had plenty of takers (most in their 30s, but some younger).

I'm not saying this is a solution for you, just something to think about.

One good reason to keep them down there is if you are are afraid of losing them. If you ask me the whole colombian culture and society is designed to keep women subserviant.
And if they have children probably next to imposible to lose them down there. A lot of guys don't realize that they can really marry a super model down there (if she has a child) because a colombian guy with cash would never marry a women with some other guys kid.

Also, it is much less expensive to maintain them. The cost of living is much lower in Colombia.

One of the supposed attributes of Colombian women is that they are not (as) materialistic as gringas are. For one thing only a few of my North American girlfriends were particularly materialistic but that aside if we are talking about a montanera that imay be true but if we are talking a calena it's bunk. The only reason calenas don't appear to be materialista in my experience is most that we meet don't have the cash. If they have it (mostly if it's yours) they're happy to spend it on expensive and useless baubles and they are absolute gulible suckers for slick advertising. Most men on this board can't keep their colombianas in Colombia so it's a moot point but those few who can can keep a lid on the tendency to materialism.
