Hey everyone!

Well to make a long introduction short...my fiance and I managed to patch things up.  A few weeks ago I had posted that we broke up...anyway, to the question at hand.

She got her packet from Bogota today and just felt totally overwhelmed by the paperwork.  What bothered her was the cost for everything...so I'm asking if this sounds correct.

The interview itself...$200
The exam....$70

I'm not worried about the cost but I'm surprised at them...the embassy web page says $100 for the interview.

It was $100 for the visa and $100 for the medical exam plus taxi fare around the city. I sent my novia $600 to cover everything which included round trip airfare from Cali. Also there is a guy in Cali I know that did my novia's paperwork with no mistakes.

I've got my documents together to send to her... am I missing anything?

-  I-134 completed and notarized
-  Letter from employer with dates and salary
-  Letter from banking institute
-  income tax returns for last 3 years with W-2s
-  I'm divorced so I also have certified copy of divorce decree
-  Just for her to have...copies of: original I-129F, our G-325As, our birth certificates (hers translated), and a copy of my passport.

I can't think of anything else.  Man, she sure felt overwhelmed when she went through the packet from the embassy.

Also...can anyone suggest a good hotel for her to stay at near the embassy and phone number?  Thanks!

Check the archives for a hotel in Bogota, it's been posted many times....there is one right across the street, but if I remember right, most people say it's expensive and not that nice and that there is a much better one a few blocks away.

If you don't mind the question, did you file through Texas or Nebraska and please give a time line from filling to 1st NOA, 2nd NOA, NVC time, etc. before they actually scheduled the interview. Thanks, and glad you patched things up.

I went through NSC...it took forever for sure...

1st NOA  1/8/03
2nd NOA  5/29/03
NVC notice dated 6/5/03
she got the packet from Bogota last night 6/16/03

I'll check the archives when I get home...  Thanks Michael.
