... in response to You just making this up as you go along?, posted by lswote on Jun 12, 2003

Yeah, I was married to a topless dancer big deal. She was one of the truly kindess people I ever met in my entire life.

I don't know where you get off referring to my ex-wives as b*tches because I have never ever called any of my ex-wives that. In fact I have never cussed at any of them nor have they me.

I admit I don't really know what the actual likelyhood of models getting horn-dogged while they are trying to work. But, I am well aware of the pitfalls of a women trying to pursue a modeling career in Cali. Mainly a career that doesn't amount to diddly squwat as compared to a career in the U.S.

In my opinion most of the modeling agencies in Cali take advantage of the girls or at the very least waste their time and money. It is just my opinion and a generalization. I have no reason to believe that Traveller and his agency are anything but honest and up front. If Traveller takes ofense to anything I have said. I'm sure he'll take it up with me. He's a big boy.

Why the gang tackle on Cali Pro?  He is merely pointing out the fact that the commercial sex industry is much more pervasive in Latin America than it is here.  If there is sufficient interest, I'll be happy to elucidate the social and economic factors which cause this.  Its not as simplistic as "The girls need money".  Additionally, I thought relevant personal experiences were the purpose of this board.  Cali Pro recounts some of his and hostility begins to surface that he is airing his dirty laundry.  The point of all this is that others can learn from one's mistakes and experiences.  After all, who better to learn from than a Pro?

Be careful who you look up to............where I come from a "Pro" is measured by his successes NOT his failures.

Calipro's behavior aren't to gang up on him, but only to show him that he isn't a Pro that he claims to be.

Yes, he's been to a few places in Cali, and yes he has been married a few times; but given his history and outlook, his proclaiming to be a Pro of Cali is not consistent with the ideas of success that many other posters, and female members at agencies, have for finding a spouse.

He's a Pro at some things, whatever they may be, but not at others. Is he a Pro in your book?

Calipro,
How many times have you been married? I am counting 3! and you are only 40? Perhaps you need to reevaluate the kind of women you are go after, Plenty of good really pretty women around. My fiance is 29,but looks like a teenager. Plenty of people's comments when they see her are"How old is she"?

But she has a head on her shoulder. Is an accountant by trade.Very careful with money. Treats me like a king and thinks she hit the lottery with me. She is easy to talk to. We share the same hopes and dreams. She does not go out to clubs. She has a great body, but dresses a bit conservatively. She is also as pretty as they come looking more latina than Philipina.with straight long black hair and olive skin. So it has nothing to do with lowering your standards.

Set the bar just as high for her charecter as you do her beauty. Also make sure she is as attracted to you as you are to her. Otherwise, you end up getting used. I'm 33 and I have left the teen girls aside because they still have plenty to learn in this life. I'm not looking to be a father or teacher. Just a loving partner.

Mark 33,

Great post!!!  And congratulations on your successful marriage.  I'm sure CaliPro considers you an idealist as well.
After reading CaliPro's posts over the last few weeks, it's clear that he is different than most of us, which is fine.
But I'm sure when he meets Calenas he portrays a much different person than his real self.  Lucky for his last Calena, that she kept her Caleno boyfriend on the side.

Thank you for the good wishes. I am not married yet. But engaged to a wonderful woman. Like you I am an idealist. I knew there was a woman out there that would treat me like gold, and love me just as much as I love her.
I used to be the kind of guy who settled. Sure, I was dating extremely attractive( always foreign women living in the U.S). But I was not getting the attention, affection, and the love I needed from these women. It was mostly one sided. It took me a long time to be confident enough in myself to understand I deserved 100% of what I needed in a relationship. I also began to place a very high premium on a woman's charecter, intelligence, family values and self esteem.
With my fiance, I finally realize how a woman who truly  is in love treats her man.Any man who has that can never accept luke-warm affections again. It is an amazing feeling to know the woman you love is crazy for you too,and she is going to be there for you through thick and thin.
We all know that when we travel to a foreign country, it is not too hard to find a 9 or a 10 to marry .But what is her charecter like? Does she really love you or the oppurtunity to get a green card?
Relationships are 2 sided. If she is not as hot for you as you are for her, you have basically set yourself up to be a sucker and meal ticket till the guy she really wants comes around. It is a shame that some guys base their self-esteem solely on the beauty of a wife they only get to keep for 2 years.

I will always take a 7-8 who is as crazy about me or even moreso than I am crazy about her, than a 9-10 that thinks a guy should thank his lucky stars to have a woman as attractive as she is.

One sided relationships are just not for me. It is also not important for the whole world to think or know that I have a young, hot wife or novia. If I am attracted to her and nobody else is. . . . .who cares?

Many, many a Calena's dream is to be a model......very, very few become successful.........I think you are correct that the model agency owners are the only people making money (in most cases). Models in Cali are a dime a dozen.  No big deal to meet one.......if you don't have looks, money, personality, and can't speak spanish, don't hang your hat on having a relationship with any.  They are good to look at, but I doubt many gringos have had serious relationships with any.  If so, I love to see a post, and I mean with a real Calena model.  I think it's time for some of you guys to come back down to earth and get real about what kind of woman you can realistically attract, have a successful relationship with, and marry.
BTW CaliPro, would you REALLY want your wife to  be a topless dancer???  Maybe I read your post wrong.........

I was already married to a topless dancer a while back and I really didn't have a problem with it. There are some pluses to it. She will make a pretty good income which you really don't have to pay taxes on most of it. She can change her schedule and take time off just about any time you want.

The only real draw backs are what other people say and do. I had a couple of guys at work find out that my wife worked at a topless bar. So they went in and got some table dances from her and then of course they had to tell me about it. I just asked them if they paid her after the dances and they said "yes". I just told them thanks for the business and walked out of the room.

Also, my ex-wife would often asked me why I wasn't jealous, I would tell her that I just couldn't get excited about her working as a topless dancer. I mean a guy could see her on the beach in a bikini or walking down the street in a tight dress and have a perverted thought at least she'll get paid for it. Other women won't get a dime.

Beenthere I don't want you to think that I mine your comments because I don't. But, you have to realize that all the guys that are going down to Cali are not exactly looking for the same thiing. My idea of an ideal relationship is not necesarily a life long relationship.(if it was I would keep her down in Cali like Cali Vet) My 3 year marriage to my caleņa ex-wife in my opinion was the most successful relationship I ever had. Why? Because it was the most utterly enjoyable relationship I ever had. I'm not lying when I tell you she wasn't the only women that ever walked out on me, But she was the only one I was ever sorry to see go.

Beenthere I think you need to come down to earth. Remember your post where you were telling us how to tell if your caleņa loved you a 110%. Is she always there to take your calls. etc. etc. I didn't want to tell you but I couldn't even pass your test. You are a very idealistic guy and I don't I think was 110% in love with my first caleņa wife until I had lived with her for at least 6 months.

CaliPro,
I appreciate your comments and I appreciate the fact that you are looking for something different.  But are you willing to be up front with the Calenas you meet & let them know that you aren't looking for a life long relationship?? I doubt that you will, because if you do, they won't give you the time of day, they will look at you as a "perro", the same type they are trying to avoid (Colombiano).
As far as coming down to earth, I'm not sure what your referring to.  I'm sorry you couldn't pass my test.
Idealistic???  It depends on how you define it.........not everything is perfect, but it doesn't hurt to strive for perfection....Idealist=noble of character??? That's more like me.......and the Calenas love someone who is noble of character.

I'm not saying that life long relationships are bad or that I wouldn't be interested in one. I'm just stating the obvious. It hasn't happened yet and my happiness does not depend on weather I find a life long partner or not.

You say that "My idea of an ideal relationship is not necesarily a life long relationship."  Upon meeting a young lady down south, at some point do you make this clear to her???  If so, how long do you wait to tell her???

Take care,

Mark
