Do these relationships tend to dissolve quicker than their american counterparts when a conflict arises? Or do you find that
the women are more committed to making the relationship work?

You're asking a question which can't be answered except by those offering anecdotal evidence.  Each man can really only comment with authority on his own wife, and even then only if he's been with her a long long time through many ups and downs.

Some guys could relay the story of others, usually "internet aquaintances" who they know nothing about except what they're told through their e-mails.  Some guys know several other guys personally, but unless the couples have been together a long time and suffered through tough times, once again, you're not going to get the information you want.

I've been married close to 5 years now.  During tough times my wife has shown more resolve to keep the marriage together than I have.  I've seen two marriages between Latin woman and gringo husbands fail.  In both cases, I think the men wanted the divorce as much, if not more, than the women.  I know of one other marriage that frankly sucks, but both of them seem to be commited to making it work in some fashion.  Does that mean that YOUR Latin wife would be as commited to marriage as mine, or these others?  No, each woman is unique.

If you want statistics, go to the main Planet-Love.com page and click on the FAQ page from there (not the one on the side of the message board).   You'll find data on divorce rates by country and age group, with comparisons to the US divorce rate.  You may not like what you find, particularly in regard to marriage to YOUNG Latin women.

By the way, the two marriages I personally saw fail were to women in their early to mid twenties.  Anecdotal evidence I know, but that's all I can offer.  Marrying a woman in this age bracket seems to be the big draw for many of the men, but IMHO, these are the marriages at greatest risk.  I don't buy the old "They mature faster in Latin America" line.

Kudos to you! I particularly congratulate you on your comment that it's the girls in their "early to mid twenties" that are the biggest risk. Dead on right!
I've learned the hard way, in this day and age maturity is a rare commodity and extremely rare in a young woman. Just think back to when you were in your early to mid-twenties and then decide if that's someone who you can choose.
Admittedly the fantasy of a young, beautiful latina laying next to you is a unbelievably attainable dream, but reality sets in during the day time.
Cheers to you and yours...

Regarding your statistics for Colombia I find myself suspecting that they don't take in to account the "union libre" or commonlaw marriages that are the common practise there and which could skew the numbers. Anyway after going to your FAQs page I'm changing my whole stratagy. To heck with those fussy latinas I'm going to start chasing 20 year old Chinese girls!
