For those with an interest in the econommy of Colombia and I'm thinking especially of guys who send funds or pay for sevices there, I think it's of interest that the current minimum monthly wage is $286.000 which at a rate of $2300 pesos to the dollar is about $125 US.

there's an interview in caliescali.com (informes especiales) with a traffic light juggler and windshield washer. The juggler (looks to be about 10) who also does imitations of Pedro el escamoso works at Sexta and Estacion and says he earns between $6.50 and $13 a day working from 11am to 7pm so his minimum if he worked every day is about $200. The windshield washer gets only about $4.50 a day and says the best customers are taxi drivers.

Depending on who you work for in Colombia. There's no guarantee, that you'll be paid that month/week. My lady had to go several weeks at a time without a pay check. They'll catch up eventually, but could you imagine the drama one has to go through with these wages & delays....

Bob Frank (classycolombianladies) who works at a factory in B/quilla has made the same complaint. That's why the word "fiar" is so common.
