Tax time is approaching !

We deal so much with the INS that we can sometimes forget that the IRS demands attention around this time each year. If, like me, you married a foreign spouse during the year 2000, then you will want to read this URL:

http://web.ukonline.co.uk/jm.johnson/tax.htm

It explains how you fill out your federal income tax form in the first year of your marriage. Good luck, and may everyone get a refund !

Another issue that ought to be addressed (in the case of spousal visas) is having to file Married Separately as opposed to Married Jointly.  It sounds like it could be a murky matter.  But it would be preferable to file Married Joint.  One difficult part to say the least, is obtaining two signatures on a timely basis.
