Hi All,
A friend of mine is going to Butuan city soon.
Any recommended hotels, restaurants, etc. would be appreciated
Probably 1000 per day or less would be the price range for the
hotel.  Any must-see places or things to do ?

Thanks,

Don

Hi Don,

I like the Balanghai Hotel, near city hall and across from the Regional Museum. The Almont and Dottie's Place have also been recomeded by board members. The Almont is  downtown, across from Rizal Park. The Almont Inland Resort is nice, but is not in the price range you mentioned. The Carl Patrick is now closed.  Here is a link to Butuan City hotels:

Not much nightlife in Butuan. There were(are?) some eco-type tours that were offered through the Balanghai Hotel.  As for food, my wife can't seem to get enough chicken at Weegols on Montilla Blvd. Here is a link to Butuan City Hotels, Restaurants and Shopping. I am not sure how current all of the information is.

I forgot to mention, there is a new Gaisano Mall near Dottie's Place in Butuan City.

I think you're supposed to make your own night-life!

You can manage that.

It's always good to hear from you.  I hope we can get together in the pHilippines next time we're there.
