Does anyone know any good books about the Philippines or about learning Tagalog?  Where can I find them online?

Here's a couple of sites for language lessons:

http://www.travlang.com/languages/

http://www.transparent.com/

You might also stop by your local Office Max or Staples.
They have language programs for computers.
You may have to order the Tangalog one though; they usually only carry the most common languages(French, German, Spanish).

Have you read Jean's "Filipina Courtship Secrets?" and if so, how was it?

A good book to start with is "Culture Shock! Philippines" by Roces. amazon.com carries it, along with a good selection of Tagalog dictionaries and other Filipino-related books.

Also, these guys have a large listing of books you can order:
