I post a moving patriotic speech by Charlie, and not one response,
Peter posts his trials and tribulations with his gf who nobody thinks he should be with, and you guys post about 100 responses .

Which is more important in the overall scheme of things, what are anyone and everyone you know of, talking about? everywhere you go. ?
You guys have no opinion ? I am so fed up with these anti war protestors i am about to organize a Support our troops rally down by the university where i live, in my city, to counter the idiots , who are soaking up all the police resources everyday in our city . Last Friday, they had about 1000 cops blocking every street for 2 miles , just to keep the "peace" from the "peace protestors".

Yes i know my post was off topic, But its a post about one of the most important topics you can think of, off this board. The War.

I found these sites that some might want
to look at. The first one includes footage on the 3/23 and 3/24 listings about dead American soldiers. It's awful. So please don't look at the
first site if images of war upsets you.

The second one is just a slideshow set to music, including stills of Americans about to jump out of the WTC tower.

Why are you looking for controversy here?  So far most people posting to this thread have endorsed your views of Charlie Daniels and there hasn't been much controversy, but I certainly don't agree with him, however I prefer to keep me politics to myself, thank you very much.

We have enough fights on this board coming over Latin women versus Russian women, or WOVO versus WMVM, do you really need to stir the pot about the war?

Sure the war is important, but go find another more appropriate message board in addition to this one and post to your hearts content there.  Just because we all have the common objective of finding foreign wives doesn't mean we have the same political views and I think talking politics on such a volatile issue as the war is just plain dumb.

... in response to Politics are inappropriate for this boar..., posted by lswote on Mar 27, 2003

Hi lswote,

You are right about some of us getting wayyy off topic at times! Sometimes we get patriotic, angry, or silly. Things get a bit slow and boring around here at times. We find ourselves posting just about anything (including farts), maybe to keep this from becoming a ghost town. The vast majority of us are involved with Filipinas and don't know much about other countries. There are a few posters with wives from other Asian countries. Jeff, Mal, and Tim who occasionally posts. We are at different stages in relationships. Many of us are already married, some for a number of years. Most of us don't have a lot of useful information in regards to immigration procedures, since they change on a regular basis, especially at the US Embassy in Manila. Introduction services (for money) and penpal clubs that charge money for address are illegal in the Philippines. About half of us met our wives or fiancées through other means and are not familiar with these services. Consequently the Asian Message Board has become more than a just a clearinghouse for finding foreign wives.

... in response to Muslim Rebels Kill Filipino Christians, posted by Matt on Mar 28, 2003

Hi Matt,

The Philippine government continues to negotiate with these terrorists, despite 70% of the residents of Mindanao against it. The MILF continues to terrorize right through peace negotiations. Unlike President Arroyo, most Mindanao residents realize that most of the Muslim minority (all of the terrorists) won't be satisfied until they drive all of the Christians from Mindanao and form their own country. Contrary to Muslims claims, they were not the first settlers of Mindanao. I doubt very few Mindanao residents are opposed to using US troops in combat against the MILF and ABS! If the government won't do anything but continue to negotiate, Christian vigilante groups will once again raise their hands against Muslims...some innocent.

Hi Iswote,

I disagree! We don't fight about Russian versus Latin women on the Asian Board. We don't even fight about the choice between Filipina, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, and Indonesian... The only problems we usually have here come from trolls or Latin and Russian Board members. We can tie Asian topics into the politics and the war posts if you would like, but is that really necessary? Life is intertwined and one aspect often relates to another. The war is a large focus of most of our lives at the moment. Some of our fiancées and wives are asking about it. More American troops will be landing in the Philippines soon for "training exercises" against al-Kaida linked terrorists. People that don't like conservatism here or the way this board has become sometimes leave. But they could make this board whatever they wanted by posting and starting threads of discussion, instead of posting only to complain. The only rule some of us may break on occasion is number 6. But I guess that is subject to how sheltered ones life is.

Discussion Board Rules

  1. No SPAM

  2. No using multiple identities

  3. No posting of personal ads for men

  4. No discussions of prostitution

  5. No posting links to pornography

  6. No foul language

Hi Hum,

I personally think that at the very least, they ought to round up these people up if they break any laws, as small as no permit, and put them in internment camps until the war is over. Anyone remaining deserves a good head cracking from the police and jail time. I would really prefer that they all get sent to Baghdad! I'm sure some people will get on me about Constitutional rights! I have to live with it, but didn't write it. I prefer GUILTY, until proven innocent!

For the most part, you're preaching to the choir.  This is a mostly conservative crowd.  Dissenters know they are in a minority and would be shown about as much mercy here as an anti-Saddam protester in Baghdad.

This is basically a very conservative crowd of folks.

If people want to disagree with me, that's their right.  But they can still go straight to hell.

We'll now stand and salute the flag.
