Since I haven't talked seriously with any of my FSU lady friends about marriage, I really haven't gotten any 'Dear Johns.'

I have often had continuing correspondence with some ladies after we both agreed there was no long-term future. However, at some point, they all have sent me a 'lets quit corresponding' message.

The gals in FSU don't seem to be interested in continuing to correspond on a friend to friend basis once they see no long-term partnership on the horizon. My lady friends all mostly have their own computers and internet connections at home or at the office, so it is not a case of traveling long distances and spending scarce money to continue e-mail correspondence.

What has been the experince of you other fellows in this regard?

This thread is interesting and it shows that there are some men of very significant experience here.

I have been to Ukraine 2 times past 5 months and just returned from a planned meeting with a terrific woman from Perm in Istanbul.  We had such a nice time together and I think she is smart and very sensual...it is special to be with someone who I appear to be so compatible with...I will see her again before too long...I would like her to get a Schengen so I only have to go as far as Amsterdam..just easier. But, is she the one?  Cannot say...

I have written to others that I want to meet for the first time and I have met a few I would like to see again.  I guess my thought here is that it is difficult or sad to think that this thing I have that is good could end with a dear Jane letter(or, god forbid, dear John)....although, human nature what it is, if I got a dear John I would probably become even more aggressive...perhaps I will post a trip report of my recent trip to Istanbul....for now I guess I am just rambling on a bit...  If there is a point to my post it is that this activity we are involved in can be very stimulating and fun but of course, one has to be an active participant...the ultimate goal of course is to find THE ONE.... it all takes time...

I have 2 old friends, one from Russia, another from Ukraine,
both of whom still write about once per week.  Sometimes they ask for advice, other times they ask if we couldn't get back together for maybe one more try.  I tell them maybe one out of 20 or 50 or 100 hit on love.  Others are in it for the comfort and or convenience.  I told one about a guy who was flying home with his new wife, and he asked her if she loved him.  She said, "No, I don't...not yet.  But you get the benefit of a young beautiful wife, while I get comfort and security...and maybe the love will come later."  Probably the most honest answer any FSU chick ever gave her guy.  Too bad more guys don't see the game for what it is.  Anyway, 2 out of 5 still write me regularly.

You write : She said, "No, I don't...not yet. But you get the benefit of a young beautiful wife, while I get comfort and security...and maybe the love will come later."

It is the story of my first marriage with RW... result : divorce when she have receive the Belgium nationality... Advice : don't marry without love...
