Since you're going to probably fly into Kiev I'd at least spend a day there sightseeing.  It is a very beautiful city with a large number of beautiful churches to look at.  Now I tend to be partial to the Crimea. I've been there twice and it's a vacation desination in and of it's self.  You have the Black Sea and it's accompaning resort towns like Yalta, Alustha just to name a couple.  You've got Sevastopol which is very interesting, you've got beautiful castles, palaces, caverans that give our Carlsbad a run for their money, mountains... you name it they have it there. The capitol of Crimea is Simferopol. The best thing I like about Crimea is their beautiful and unspoiled women.  My wife is from Simferopol and she's the most incredible creature I've ever known.  They also have a few very reputable and honest agencies there.  I meet my wife through one of them and I've dealt with about three of them during my search.  It's a great vacation spot and you won't feel like you're "working."

Thanks very much for the info.  Could you tell me which agencies you used and liked in Simferopol??  Which one your wife used?

Thanks,

Well, I've been to Ukraine a few times and all of the following post is just my opinion,,,,,,,,,,,
Sure it's a dump, the Soviets were'nt known for their Apt. design. Water, electricity, could be sporadic??? If you want to go to Eastern Europe for a "cushy", 5-star vacation, stay home. Save yourself the headache and save the rest of us who travel well the embarrassment of another whiney, loud, complaining American abroad. Or better yet, go to Vegas and wear your sweat pants and ratty T-shirt up and down the strip.
If you want to go to a "different" country and culture, meet very friendly and sincere people. Keep your expectations low and your possibilities open and you will be in for the trip of your life. You will meet a people who have not forgotten what it's like to have strong women, yet very tender, beautiful and feminin.
Life goes by if you sit on the couch or not,, but if you get up and your ass isn't supported the way you like it supported, don't *itch or bad mouth em'.
My 2 cents

I posted twice and and didn't mean to bite his head off but nothing gets my "goat" worse than his bud from town that came back and whined about everyday life in Ukraine.
If I could type better and faster, you guys would have pages of what my wife was screaming for me to write and say!  Smiley  Any one who is worth their own,,,,,,,, went there to experience it for themselves, pure and simple.
My "first" didn't work out,,,,,,,, as do many here or those I know that have gone. There's a million ways to do it "right" and MORE ways than that to do it wrong. I know of a couple girls here that are "married" to 100% trash. They live like slaves! I know of a woman who married and 4 months later took her "so-so" husband to the cleaners w/the support of the local womans shelter. It's a two way street.
I've been places where I've heard guys say, "How can I get one of those"?  I just hang my head in shame to be associated by nationality to such stupid people. "How can I get one of those"?.  They're people, not an item on a shelf at the mall. Write letters, make contacts, read and listen. Do your homework and say a prayer and get a ticket and go. Like my wife said,,, with the right woman,, you would follow her to the smallest village to have her heat water on the stove so you could bathe and it will have been the best time of your life.

"a million ways to it 'right'"..I was wondering..
to do WHAT right? Just curious.
Guess I'm dence on that one, and couldn't follow
the meaning.
Numbers are quite arbitrary sometimes.
I believe that narrow is the straight path and wide is the highway to perdition.

My wife has made new friends with a lady here in Garland from
sp? Khazakstan...
anyway she is about 30 or so  w/jr. high son. nice looking
girl..strawberry blonde and her American spouse?
Yikes..I see problems there. Svetlana doesn't like him,
and a most superb judge of character is my wife.

What can you do/say/think sometimes?

I was refering to looking for a wife. My method was "right" for me and I've read others methods that I wouldn't be comfortable with. But if it works for them,,,,,  Power to em'.  That's all.  Wink

More than once I have hung my head at the stupid things some people say on here.

Your wife is absolutely correct...

As Proverbs says: "A wife of noble character, who can find? She is worth far more than rubies!"

I think maybe you misunderstood me a little.. I don't personally care if it's not so nice over there, I just care about the women.  I will not be complaining about the "environment".  This guy told me that all the agencies in Kherson were run by the mafia and that the whole town just about was as well.  That I don't like so much (if it's true of course).
I expect it to be a much less inviting environment in Ukraine and am not looking for a cushy vacation.  I am looking at this as work!  I really want one of these women but the biggest trouble I am having is in planning where to go there.  From all the guys I have talked to, I don't want Kiev or Odessa.  I have heard a lot of horror stories about Lugansk as far as the scammers go.  I was thinking Kherson sounded pretty good till I listened to what this one guy had to say about it.
So it's a little confusing.  I don't want to go to 3 or 4 cities, I want to go to just one and really work hard at it there.  Question is, which city???  Kharkov, Kremenchug, Sumy, Kherson??
All suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
BB

Didn't meen to bite your head, just wanted to issue a warning,,,  The FSU can chew you up if your not careful but I've never had a problem.
Don't realy know how to advise you, your'e not shopping at Wallmart, and I did it on my own with no knowledge of this board until I had almost completed the K-1 for my wife and stepson.
Your dealing with people,,, women at that. Some are so sincere, you wont believe it. The next one will try to take you for all you got and never flinch.
You can take a "tour" and have some one hold your hand the whole way,,,,,,,,,  or you can walk blind into the fire all on your own,,,,,  or anything in between.
Anywhere and everywhere you go the women will make you turn your head, village, city,,,,,
It's up to you how you feel comfortable looking for a wife, some one you would wish to fall in love with?Huh
Good luck,,,,,,
Hang on,,,,,,,
It's an awsome ride!

... in response to Question about Kherson and Kharkov-, posted by Buddabelly on Oct 31, 2003

Hey Buddabelly,

Do your fiends call you tiny sometimes also?  To get to your question, I can understand why the guy in your city didn't like Kherson.  Kherson is a very small city and because of this it has the trapings of a small village in the 1940's or 50's.  Kharkov on the other hand is the second largest city in Ukriane behind Kiev and it has many very beautiful places.  No matter where you go in Ukraine you will be amazed at the differences between a U.S. city and those in Ukraine.  70 years of soviet plunder and neglect takes a long time to correct and modernize so be aware that you are not going to Disneyland.

If I can give you my best advice it would be to write to many girls in Ukraine and I would concentrate on the smaller cities such as Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk, Krivoy Rog, etc. as these girls have not become spoiled like the girls in Kiev.  When it comes time to visit Ukraine then some will be willing to meet you in Kiev and then you can take the bullet trains (just kidding) to the small cities and villages to see why these girls are the unspoiled and well mannered beauties that men all over the world seek as their wives.

My wife is from Krivoy Rog and she is the sweetest, kindest and most beautiful girl I have ever known.  Always be sure to be polite, honest and frank with them so you do not ruin it for the other guys.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input.  Believe me, I have no illusions about what it looks like over there.  That really doesn't matter to me, I am looking for a good woman, I could care less what the neighborhood looks like! :-) It would bother me if the mafia basically owned the town and the agencies though!
What I had understood was that even though Kharkov is 2nd in size to Kiev (yup, I have done my homework), it seems that not nearly as many men go there as to Kiev or Odessa, would that be your opinion or do you think many guys routinely go to Kharkov as well?

Could you tell me more about Krivoy Rog?  How big, what agencies are legit there, what did you think of the opportunities and the women there, etc??  Or did you have your wife meet you somewhere else?

Thanks
