California Service Center slowing to a crawl

I submitted paperwork for an 129F for my fiancee starting Aug 7th. I got my notice saying 60-90 days but now it looks like California is slowing to a crawl. On 9-1-03 they were processing from 4-17-03. On 9-17-03 they only made it to 4-22-03... I hope it is temporary or those that are waiting or soon to file will have a looooooooonnngggggg wait...

Does anyone know why it slowed so much?

Hello,
     I would not worry about a single two week processing report.  The California Service Center has always processed fiancee visas at an irregular rate.  The next processing report will probably be much better.  I suggest taking a look at California Service Center processing report archives at www.immigration.com to get a more accurate idea about processing rates.  For me, the California Center processed my application in 3 and 2/3 months.  Application date: 3/19/03; Completion date: 7/9/03.  Hopes this helps!

By the way, this whole process dones not take forever.  My fiancee received her visa approval at the Warsaw Embassy today!  She and her son will be in the U.S. in time for Thanksgiving.

It is my understanding that priority has been given to process illegals from South America.  Global7Network reports that due to political problems in many South American countries, these illegals are given priority treatment.

My wife and I did a direct consular filing in Kiev and I spent two months in Ukraine and Poland with her to bring her here safely and legally at great expense.  The immigration officers treated us like we were alway trying to pull some type of scam.  I guess it is more en vogue to fly to Mexico and walk across illegally to get better service.

Who knew?
