hi all,

Responding to wsbill last post, i thought about an exchange program(don't know why they call it exchange since there isn't any) i have heard about.

You can(for about 1500$ to 2500$) live 4 months in Russsia /Ukraine, having 2 months intensive individual russian classes, and then you teach your own language at the university.

Almost all is included except pocket money...

I guess if i had know that before booking my trip to volgograd i'd have done that....

Imagine yourself teaching to 18-25 y.o in a Russian University, with the teacher aura and all.. in other  words pure nirvana:)))
No previous diploma is needed to teach in Irkutsk, however you need a degree for Moscow.

There is also the possiblity to stay 2 months, with 1 month classes and 1 month in a russian enterprise(this for lviv, moscow, irkutsk and 1-2 others)

The month can be spent either in a newspaper, a computer enterprise, or in kindergarten.

If someone is interested i'll post the contacts. They dont' have a website and the company is based in Switzerland.

I guess i know where i'm going to spend 4 months next year..Smiley))

P.S : i think they are targeting people under 35 mostly.

Yes it COSTS 1500 to 2500$.
About the point in doing this : There is none if you don't want to speak Russian. Doing this for the money is ridiculous. You will earn a russian teacher salary for the 2 months of teaching, but if not in moscow it won't be more than 100$/month i guess. The interesting part is that with a program like that you come back speaking russian fluently. And for my own sake i want to speak this language as i speak english(btw i usually speak french, so forgive my grammar mistakes), and i'm still far from it. Moreover if you are looking for the woman of your dreams, what is a better way to do it?

For the stage in a computer enterprise, i just dont know really what you 'll do. From what i heard, you have to make them understand you expect to work, not just look at them and drink coffee. SO if you have a diploma of any kind in the field, i'm sure  it helps to get a few responsibilities.

so here is the contact info(no email, sorry..)

I'm under 35 and would like to see the contact info, please.

Does the program COST $1500-$2500, or you EARN $1500-$2500?  I
think you meant cost, but shouldn't you be earning money teaching
English?  What determines the exact cost?

Is any degree sufficient to work in Moscow, or must it be a TESL degree?

What is done during the computer enterprise portion of the trip?  Is a
computer science degree an advantage?

Thanks

Most guys could make in weeks what you are talking about making in a year teaching English in Russia - sounds cool for a month, but I just do not know where it will get anyone who does it in the big scheme of things.  Then again, the guy who will teach English probably does not know or care about where his life is headed to, other than to Russia.

A friend of mine is teaching English in Taiwan.  She has a bachelor's degree only.  No certification.  No prior experience.  And the money flows in her direction.
