....A recent tale reported to me is cause to remind you to search for your new "love's" name and email address on as many search engines and anti-scam websites as you can. It's the first thing you should do no matter how sweet she seems to be. The tale involved financial support after the K1 process began, when the guy felt she was a keeper. Wasn't a case of her getting cold feet either. (He's a visitor here, maybe he'll spill after he recovers.)

Use her married and maiden names, ect, and be creative in your searching. Do it a few times over the course of the first months of the relationship and for sure do it *after* you've met her, proved her identity, or started a K1. (Don't expect the DOJ name check to catch her at being a "deep visa" scammer.)

This simple act would have saved a few people I've heard from much grief. You may be surprised what turns up, some of these deep visa scams go all the way to just before the interview. It's a double shame when it turns out her bad marks were on the Net all along. Granted, such extremes are fairly rare but it's clear a few out there among you need a reminder to "trust, but verify".

Search for her right from the beginning and don't stop too soon. And for all you love-sick romantics out there: Think what you want...you've been warned.

This is overall good advice, but take what you find with a grain o' salt.

Before I visited the woman who would become my fiancee, I did a net search and found 2 other sites she was on. However, on one site, the photos weren't professionally done-- it was a casual shot of her outdoors-- and she looked hideous. Her hairline was the same, the name, the hometown, the age, so it seemed like indeed it was the same person and that it was a classic case of looking great in doctored pro photos and looking hideous in real life. I almost gave up. I didn't mention it to her. I had a backup plan anyway.

What actually happened was an agency made a mistake -- an agency she did not give permission for her to appear-- they put her info with another girl's photo, and my fiancee had known about this, but the agency wouldn't change it. (Now I think they don't exist.)

So when you do your search, take what you find with a grain o' salt.

...about scamming, not looks. If she's not on a scam site you're only running a 50% chance she's bad. ;-)

The key is be creative.  Use Russian search engines, first name only with date of birth, portions of email addresses, spelling variations, and above all be persistant. You may be surprised.

Mr(s) G. Meir/Zhadanov.

Stalin's - '48-'53 kicks - were, at least, clever.

I'm enjoying your efforts, well, to a sub-par level.

Phil.

No malice intended towards you, sir.

Sam? Who is that? The inference is related to: Stalin's Last Crime: The Plot Against the Jewish Doctors 1948 - 1953, Johnathon Brent and Vladimir Naumov, Harper Collins, 416 pages.

The recent book compliments I's other 'satanic' behavior(s), well, against humanity.

Sam is A russian immigrant that owned a msall plasics manufacturing firm (NY I think).  He manufactured plastic vials for which the only known use was storage of cocaine.  Even though he had no direct connection to the drugs he was successfully prosecuted, lost his company, life savings, etc..  Last I heard there were still appeals pending.

I was just looking for a connection.

I do, however, try to stay in acquaintance with various Russian nationalists, anthropologists etc.

They're very interesting folk, indeed.

esoterically communicate, you obviously live in your own world. I (and probably others) can seldom figure out what you are trying to communicate. Kindly communicate with ALL in mind instead of writing for yourself only. Translation: Peiper, your posts are gibberish.

Yes, the minor fellow, who doesn't have his pal (alter eg...): Yoe, to play with.

Play on... to Damascus and, well, Manhattan... just for me.
