... in response to How well do men's catalogs work, posted by JT on Jun 6, 2003I used Jack's service First Dream to place an ad for me. I wanted THEM writing me for a change. I received a very good response & that's because my pics were NOT very flattering. Then again what do you expect from a long haired, leather wearing musician still living in the 80's right?! LOL!!! Seriously I received a VERY good response. As a matter of fact I'm leaving this Sunday (8th) to Kiev where I'll be staying with a lady I've been writing to responded to my ad. I WAS going to do the WMVM but instead am doing a WMVO!!??LO!LL Oh well, it's a long story let's just say the band I was touring with nearly cost me my tickets (which I had already purchased) & a LOT of money out of MY pockets!! So I'm going trying to salvage ANYTHING from this trip. Oh well, I'm used to winging it.
Anyways I would SERIOUSLY recommend it. He placed my ad in several papers & over several internet sites. However you WILL get picked up by OTHER agencies YOU do not advertise with similar to the ladies showing up on different sides. I guess NOW I know how that feels. I got QUITE a bit of them writing via regular mail, MANY by e mail, & quite a bit through mail via Ukraine. If you have any questions I can answer them when I return. Good luck & if I were you I'd write Jack & ask him about it. I'm VERY HAPPY with my ad's response.
