Ukrainian Visa Question

I have a 35 day window to get my Ukrainian visa.What is the fastest and safest way to get it besides going to the Embassy?Can I get a multiple entry visa without some big excuse?I am going to Kiev on 4-15-03.

i submitted app via airborne for business visa on 2/14/03.  Chicago consulate rec'd on 2/18/03, due to holiday.  I received visa on March 4th via fed ex.  I sent them a prepaid airborne express envelope and they wouldn't use it and sent my visa to me via fed-ex due on delivery.

i listed the name of a business and the owner in the box for who i was planning to visit and my purpose of visit was a business related statement but very general. i didn't want to imply that i would be working. i also listed where the business was located on my list of places i planned to visit.
i asked for a multi-year but was granted one for only a year.

you can get it on your own in time. but you must submit NOW.

Hi Charlie,

Hey, I just sent my application in to the DC office.

You can get expedited service ...it costs twice as much...but will save time. I sent mine in myself and went with a business multi entry...cost 165 plus express both ways....expedited costs 330 plus postage. Its your call.

Im pretty much in your position....Im going to be in Kiev April 9,10,11th then on to Kharkov until May 8th.

Hope you have a great trip. Where are you going after Kiev?

I am in Kiev April 16,17,leave 18th for Sevastapol.Thanks for the post!Visiting Yalta and a few other sites around there.I am going to send it myself and I did double entry and expedited service.$220.00

You should be able to get a "business" visa good for one year (unlimited visits) with no problem. In some cases you can get one for three years but it sometimes takes a while and you don't have time to be screwing around sending things back and forth. Remember that we aren't on as good relations since the radar sale thing so don't expect them to go out of their way to accomodate US citizens nowdays.

I would suggest trying to get one through the Consulate in Chicago (faster). If that doesn't work (you should know in a matter of days) you will have to use the New York Consulate.

Download the application to send the required fee and documents (say bye-bye to your passport and hope that it comes back). Send all documents Fedex with a return Fedex envelope and sweat it out or...use a visa agency (and still sweat).

At least you didn't wait as long as some to take care of this most important aspect of travel overseas. Still 35 days is cutting it close. Get on this ASAP.
