... in response to Ukraine May Be The ONLY Country . . ., posted by Dan on Feb 28, 2003As always, you are right on target, Dan.
It surely must have affected the farm land,
over there, the fruits and veggies, then the kids.
As for Ukraine, unfortunately it is not the only country,
affected by nuclear power plant.
In Québec, we do have one and it doesn't run, because
of the danger of living next to one.
In a town call Pickering, next to Toronto in the prov. of Ontario,
they came very close to a Chernobyl in spade. Had to close down
four reactors, the people running it were always high on hash.
They found the pipes to smoke it.
Now they do make electricity with coal, which is almost as bad
for the people living around these plants.
In Québec, my province, electricity is made with water and they sell
the surplus to the Northern states in the east.
Large manufacturing companies want to come in everyday, but the
environmental laws make it very hard for them to come in and be comics
at the same time.
All this, to say that, they don't tell us the truth about nuclear plants,
but here we had so many debates about it and all is in the open,
fortunately.
