You can place a personal ad by yourself for a lot less.

It's easy, and FWIW, it's how I found my wife. She had never been listed in any Marriage agency.

I did the personal ad myself and it cost I think $60. I had quite a lot of response to it. A few scammers. But also a few nice women.

I think it's better than writing to free persoanl ads. My experience there was I had a LOT of scammers fromt he free ads.

I'll let you know if they're for real later this month when I visit :-)  I've been writing to a woman I met on one of them for months now.  No translation fees, no asking for money, etc...  I would imagine you have to weed through very carefully though, but not a bad place to start, IMHO.

You are right... I thought that you were one in the same...

But, FWIW, I think you get what you pay for when it comes to free addresses.

You can still place a personal ad cheaply, btw. About $35 gets it in plenty of papers.

I think you are wise to contact Jack about some personal ads.  He will be the first one to tell you that given the choice between contacting women from even his own site and running personal ads, he would advise the ads..

I did the ad thing and that is how I found my fiance but I also wrote to a lot of girls from the free sites like Absolute Agency and American Singles.com etc..  I met some nice girls through these agencies but there is a very high scammer rate!  If you have little experience in the FSU or these women, a guy can be eaten by the sharks so it is something to be very careful with.  
But ads carry a very low scammer rate..
