... in response to marriage in Ukraine, posted by johndeere on Feb 16, 2002The 30-day "waiting period" you mention is the official time you are supposed to live in the country AFTER you file with the ZAGS office, and before you actually have the wedding ceremony. Fortunately, you should be able to almost entirely eliminate this wait by finding a malleable ZAGS office.
From there, you need to file I-130 with the US Embassy (Consular section) in Kyiv, and they will coordinate the processing in Warsaw. I believe, though I could be wrong, that any interviews will still be conducted in Warsaw. Processing time - assuming everything is in perfect order - is in the 2 to 3 month range.
