Yes I got burned. I have learned a lot sence then most of it here and at Maganak.  When I met my wife in 1996 there where few if any internet cafe's in the Philippines.I didn't even own a PC till 98.  The biggest lesson I learned was don't marry a 19 year old brat.
I hate to say it but looking back on it I was a dam* fool for ever marrying her.  

BTW Bear I read everyday but have come to understand why some people just lurk ;-)

For Tom N and Bear 1 or 3 years of marriage does not give you braging rights. If both of you can say the same in 10 years then that may earn you some bragging rights but  a successful marriage to me is a life time (or at my age of 44 about 35 or 40 years I hope)!

I don't post all the time here, but it doesn't mean that I've given up or anything.  Sometimes it can be time consuming to p[ost about every little detail, and most regulars know about my saga anyway.

Presently I'm at the stage where I'm trying to make new pen-pals.  So far, I've sent introductory letters to three girls, and I was introduced with an address and a picture of a fourth yesterday.  I haven't written a letter yet.

No matter what bad things people say, or horror stories I read, it's not going to stop me from looking.  I know for a fact that there are also some true gems out there too.  By the grace of God, I will find my "special someone" someday.

Tomt,,,I got lied to by a vitch, but now Juliet and I have been married for 2 months.  We love each other more each day.  So, I guess I fall on both sides of your fence poll,,,,so to speak,,,,lol,,,I have always blamed myself for being scammed as much as I blame the pina,,,most of the time I think this is true,,,we let ourselves be hurt.  Afterall,,,,we are grown adults.   Just my 2 centavos

Vilma and I have been together almost 2 years, and have been happily married for 7 months.  No regrets with her or her family.
Same as you,  just went over there,  met a few, and brought home the best one for me.
