It is the normal way most colombians travel..........two twelve hour bus trips and a few hours in a cheap motel, from Cali to Cartagena is NORMAL for the majority of people (like 95%)...............for the upper class, obviously ...........no way!!!!........plane ticket only........but if a girl is really interested in you, she will not say anything bad about traveling by bus............in our country just about NO ONE would travel this way..........but in colombia it is completely different...........like Pete said, his girlfriend, a SURGIGAL NURSE with like 15 years experience , earns $256 dollars a month!!!!!!.......not even a round trip plane ticket from Cali to Cartagena!!!!!!!............so if you want to buy the plane ticket.........go for it.........but be prepared to meet her at the airport and go directly to STUDIO F.........for her BASIC necessities.................if one throws money around, IN THE EYES OF A COLOMBIANA, she is going to expect you to keep throwing it around (at her, of course) every god damm day...........this is just my humble opinion..........to me, ONCE YOU KNOW she is interested in you, things you like to do, your values and who you are.........spending a little money on some nice things, like travel and eating out and clothes........is great............even if you are rich..............do you really want someone to only be with you because you have alot of money .......TO SPEND ON THEM.................like I said, solamente es mis dos pesos...........y claro que si, dos pesos no vale nada...........especialamente with the exchange rate dropping like a rock...............
