A friend sent me the following today.

"On 9/11 1776, George Washington's Continental army was decimated by the British.  The British offered peace if the Americans would renounce the Declaration of Independance.  Despite the grim prospects for victory the American army rallied and defeated the British and thus this great country was born.  This ultimatum by the British took place near ground zero."

225 years later the worst terrorist attack on American soil - 2819+ people die as a result of hijacked airplane attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field in Western Pennsylvania.

9/11/2005 is Carlos Vives. That's where I will be tonight.

That wasn't meant to sound so shallow. I just couldn't resist.
I have some sweet seats and I'm heading out in about an hour.

Have Fun!

Liberty often involves some ass kicking. But we got to forget political correcteness and stupidity. No guns in the cockpit  would be  like the revolutionary army carrying toy rifles.Frisking grandma to avoid the appearance of profiling is just plain nuts. Now we have an enemy so
f- - king crazy they think its good to die,it will get them 80 virgins. The British were easy compared to that.If it looked like it wasn't worth the $$$ to fight it they just went home.We have been called Imperialists but we are the original imperialist butt kickers.
Speaking of toy guns,or unloaded ones,if Jimmy Carter had put 300 marines in Lebanon with unloaded guns he  would have been strung  up from the nearest lightpole. But Ronnie got away with it.Immage can be everything.
At least we are no longer afraid to act.The world takes usw seriously again even if they don't like it.Kadaffi took a look at what happened to Saddam and said,Damm,I'm  no idiot, lets make a deal.North Korea is running scarred.Iran is still nuts, but will back off if it comes down to it.
No use having a big stick if everybody thinks you are afraid to use it.
