I was in Cali this past weekend and I'll be damned if I could find
Blues Brothers, tho I've been there before, even with the address
and a helpful taxi driver. Of course, it could have been the lady
on the taxi seat next to me...

... in response to Is Blues Brothers still open?, posted by AnzoNevis on Aug 25, 2005

We went to Blues brothers last Saturday night. It was closed. While we were sitting in front in a taxi trying to decide what to do next a guy walked over and told us something about it being moved to Martins, another Cali bar and gave the taxi driver the location.Good thing since Martins had also moved. Its on the 2 way 4 lane street one block west of Avenida Sexta now. When we got there we saw Pete, the  Irish guy who owns Blues Brothers. He said they had been temporarly closed because of complaints by the neighbors. He was getting people to sign a petition to get them re opened.I think he said he  had 3500 signatures.
The Blues brothers location is Avenida 5BN  No.23D-67.This is the new location as of about a year and a half, they moved from the old location about then.
The number, which might now ring at Pete's apartment is 668-3570.
Martins was crowded and noisy. The music was english but I like the BLues Bros music better. There were about 50 people there, only about 5 gringos or Europeans I noticed, including us.

Pete
