Anthony makes a post below about how easy it is to meet women in MDE in places like Body Tech. I went there many times and would say if you can pickup women in Body Tech there is no need to go to Colombia. Just go to LA Fitness right here in Miami. I love Medellin but as far as picking up women outside of the agencies, not all that easy there. Cali is a different story. You can sit in the bakery, drink coffee and smile at a pretty girl walking by and maybe score. a lot tougher in Mde. If I was going to rate it on the pickup hardness scale - i would give Cali a 2, BAQ a 3, Bog 7, Mde 8 and Miami 9, with 10 being the most difficult - say maybe Alaska cause i understand there are few women there

guys aren't good or comfortable with cold calls/moves, when it comes to women, that they see on the street! We all know, that with a few AW, saying "anything" will many times get you a look from these "ladies" as if you just shit on yourself or the infamous "you dare speak to me?" I guess, that this can be attributed to the culture here or natural shyness/modesty.

From my own expeience with some of the locals, if they didn't respond to my second "Good Morning/afternoon or Evening"...I didn't bother saying another dayyum thing to them, no matter how fine they were! This response or lack thereof, didn't affect my chivalry (ie:holding doors). I just made sure, that I said "YOU'RE WELCOME" loud enough for them to hear it....lol

I can pick them up anywhere because I'm not fat, bald, and I speak their language.  But if I was fat and bald I could still do it.  Because I speak Spanish.

It has nothing to do with the city.

Maybe you've hit on something. I'm not fat or bald and I can speak decent Spanish. You don't want your Spanish to be too good however - they love to hear a gringo accent. That gets them giggling and then you've got them. I know where they're coming from - when my wife speaks English - she knocks me out.

Besides dating the some of the same girls, you and i agree on a lot of other things too. Any woman in any city can be approached, even if you are not so attractive, if you know spanish and can joke with them. latin women like to be complimented and they love a good joke. Get them to laugh and tell them they are one of the most attractive women in the city, and you are in. I have said before that you can make things work if you do not know spanish, but to really do some damage, you need to know the lingo .

Yep, we both have been successfully with these women because we're good looking and speak Spanish.

It has nothing to do with the city.

I ran into her at Exito in january with her colombian boyfriend. We still talk on messenger from time to time. We will always be friends, but she is desperate to find a husband and to have children

She is a great girl. True, she wants to have children now, so if there is someone lookig for that,then she would be a great catch. me, i never want more children, but i consider her a good friend and we talk regular.

To those of you who live/spend significant amounts of time in Colombia, please compare criminal activity in Barranquilla, Medellin and Cali.  I am not one of these sit-at-homes who uses any risk, whether real or imagined, as an excuse to sit on the sofa.  In fact, I am planning to spend a significant amount of time in Colombia starting later this year, for the usual reasons.  However, the stories posted here recently about muggings and murders at ATMs in Cali have been pretty chilling.  Thanks.

I have been to Bogota, Cartagena and Letitia.  I did not see any significant criminal activity there, although I was only in-country for ten days.  In fact, I walked around the non-tourist parts of Cartagena at midnight andfelt very safe.

Crime exists in all of those cities, but for some reason , which might have to do with mafia activity or unemployment, cali seems to have a lot more ramdom street crime  and roberies. I cannot give you the reason why, just that it seems to be the more dangerous of the cities you mentioned.

My guess is that random street crime is high in Bogota and Medellin too.  We hear about Cali more here because we have 10 times as many guys with connections to this particular city.

I respect your opinions but picking up women in Medellin is like falling down. You don't even have to pick them up -they pick you up. I would be waiting for my wife and sitting on a bench and I'd have women passing by saying "Buenas dias" or smiling at me. It would not have been any problem at all to respond and start something up. Invariably on the plane or waiting at the gate from Miami to Medellin I'd meet a single woman who'd start up a conversation. I often thought to myself, If you weren't getting married, you could be finding yourself another wife every other day here.

I have noticed that in the states.If you are with a woman other women seem to notice you more.
No offense but you are speculating without having tried.Sounds like Papi has actually tried it.
But,the problem eith trying to just pick up a woman is you have no idea if she is married,has a boyfriend,ect.At least get some eye contact first I would think.
Walter Mora used to do this in Cali.He would go to a mall with you,try to introduce you to any women you see.I have heard he has got his butt kicked out of Chipi Chapi more than once for hitting on women who didn't like it.Guts for hire.I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

How far would I need to have gone with a woman to have been deemed "having tried"? I think getting their name and number is as far as I wanted to go with any woman while engaged and later married. The ones I met on planes and in airports would tell me their whole life stories! I have had a fair amount of experience with women - I know which ones I could have gotten and which ones I couldn't have. I don't need to bang a bunch of women just to be able to say that it can be done. Based on my life's experience I know that it can be done but being faithful to my wife is important to me. If only I had a twin!
