Hey guy. I had to postpone my trip until maybe around the 20th. All this rain we are getting has set back my demo projects. I usually go down about every 2 weeks. When I get to the Inter Hotel, I will contact you.
We use to have a website but I am not sure if it is still up. I will have to check with the guy who helped me with it. I am pretty much a computer idiot. However, I am working on a DVD concerning the kids and I hope it will be ready by next week. I will be happy to send to anybody interested.
While the children at this time are not up for adoption, a person can sponser a child on a monthly basis. Its either 35 or 70,000 pesos, I cannot remember. The money would go directly to the Nuns who manage the facility. This is not a United Way type deal where 90% of the donation goes to so-called admin fees. Every penny goes to the child.
Anyway, its a great facility. We have a computer room, swimming pool, garden, big playground, "industrial kitchen", classrooms, walk-in cooler, all within a 3-story building. The architecture is also sometime to admire. After the DVD is ready, my next goal is to teach the kids english and in September we are bringing down dentist.
I am not looking for money from anybody. If somebody would like to get involved they could donate a particular talent. For example the computer room has about 20 old CPUs. Maybe somebody is good with computers or maybe they might want to donate a computer. We could also use an electrician. I don't think one wire is grounded in the whole building.
One thing I would like to mention is that I am not a social worker or have such trsining. I am not a religious nut. We do this only to help the kids. We have gone through a real learning curve.
