You are right,Uribe is trying to clean things up with some success.But they got a long way to go.
You mention 2 guys on a motercycle,but that in itself is illegal and a flag to the cops.Its illegal for a man to ride on the back of a motorcycle,because the guy on the back was the shooter.I'm not sure what age a male becomes illegal,but they would have to be small.Its also kind of scary seeing the cop on the back of a motorcycle with his gun drawn.Do they really expect to be that ready?One time I was in a taxi,there were 3 guys plus the taxi driver.The cops pulled up along side on a motorcycle and really looked us over.The taxi driver said it was because there were 4 guys.
You are right about Colombians being tired of it.If a criminal gets caught robbing somebody on the street they will beat the hell out of them.One time a friend said they were yelling kill him.
I think the guirilla thing could be over in 6 years if Uribe gets his second term.General crime and corruption will be a long time getting fixed,never totally.
