Thanks heat...I know you and Jamie had some issues in the past.  I want you and everyone else to know that my purpose is to review things relating to his agency.  Unfortunately, some of these things involved his wife...but she works or worked as a translator, so that's the way it goes.  He seems like a decent guy...and my intent is not to flame him personally; but, if you start a business and take people's money to do things, you better be ready to take the criticism when you don't do it or do it poorly.

Jamie would like to believe I met the girl that  I eventually married after 20 hours in BAQ.  If you read my  post, I think that's pretty much disproven.  I don't think anyone here claimed I decided to marry in less than a year, let alone less than a day.

Why it is important to speak Spanish for everyone involved and even more so for the agency owners.

Time in country and speaking Spanish will give you better control of anything you do here.  This country is full of dishonest people.  It's the only way to know who is honest.

I pass no judgement on this business deal.  Two sides to this story.  I'm sure both of you feel you are right.

I agree, if you do business in Colombia it's almost a must to speak Spanish and well.  Too many people who will take advantage of you.....

Yep that was my point.  He's a rookie and can't speak Spanish.

No harm in that but he should admit it.  It would help his business IMHO

Big Words!

  But you are absolutely right. You cannot trust people down there they have truley re-invented the words WHITE LIE. I feel this does affect a lot of the agencies down there as well. Even translators are going to lie to you and tell you the woman you are interested in is bad or unavailable especially if they have their own interest in you. Or a relative or friend of theirs is attending the event. It is a big problem there.

  It's funny my translator Sally who is now my partner. Was always telling me that the women I was dating was not for me. I completely dis-owned Sally and confronted her on her quick ability to judge the women I was with. I ended our friendship twice completely. Guess what? She was right. I thought Sally was interested in me. And was trying to scare me away from these other women. Boy was I wrong.

  Sally is truley a great person. She means the world to me. I have turned so many people on to her and she has performed miracles for them. The great thing about her is she really loves what she does. I hope you all get the oppertunity to meet her someday.

  I have learned that the only way you are really going to know the person you are with is time. You can't rush this thing guys. It just has to happen. I have very very little faith or toloerance for B.S. which causes  me to very quickly eliminate women I am interested in. I just keep on moving.

  Hope this makes some sense. Be a good judge because you really don't know who you can trust or who you can't.

Dont worry about it too much.  There are always unsatisfied customers no matter how good the service is.  Hope Baqman is no longer sore and has good luck.  

Good to see the board cleaned up again.  I will do my part to keep it this way if others will chip in as well.
