I have a question about the support documents. Do you send the 134 to the overseas consulate that you filed the fiance visa for?

The other question has me a little nervous. I lost my job after I filed my fiance visa. In Feb they notified me that my visa had been accepted and on the I-797 it says Valid from  2/14/05 to 6/14/05.
Does this mean now I may be too late to send the affidavite of support?

I have not had much luck this year I recieved a job offer from Verizon and they then dragged for two months my start date. First I was going to relocate to Lynchburg VA then they called and said they needed me in Washington DC. After a few more weeks of no notification they froze all hiring. I had to call to find out they could not even notify their future hires. Not happy with them and won't work for them when or if they do call. It may cost me all the trouble of filing the first time only to fall apart. I now found another job but stopped looking since I needed to move my belongings to Virginia from Michigan.

The I-134 and supporting documents are submitted to the overseas embassy along with the other required documents for the visa interview. Normally, you would send the I-134 to your fiancée to submit with the other papers. Follow the instructions your fiancée receives for her visa interview.

If you are employed in a permanent position with a sufficient income to meet the annual minimum at the time of the interview, then you should be O.K. Make sure you submit a letter from your new employer stating that the position is permanent and listing your current salary. They may ask to see tax returns and W-2’s for the last 3 years, so it would be a good idea for her to have those available just in case.

The K-1 visa petitions are valid for 120 days after approval, but are routinely extended by the embassy. As long as the petition is still active and you haven’t abandoned the process, the embassy should automatically extend the validity period as long as it takes to process application and issue the visa.
