Thoughts on TLC?

Hello All,
I've read your posts for years, and finally got around to actually writing something. I've been doing the Latina search for quite a while, and have met girls from Peru and Brazil. I haven't found the right one just yet, but I've had a great time traveling and getting to know Peru and Brazil.
I've always wanted to visit Colombia, and have really enjoyed all the useful information you all provide here. I typically try and meet girls from a dating website such as Amigos.com first, then travel to meet them in person. But I've alway wanted to go to Colombia and check out the whole "tour" thing. I've read some of the pro's and con's here, but the idea of being one of a handfull of guys in a party full of 100-200 girls sounds like a great experience. If just for the chance to see all those beautiful woman in one place at the same time !!
I've heard you mention several of the more personalized agencies, and I understand their benefits. I received some information from "TLC Worldwide", their video and stuff, and I'm interested to know who has payed the $1000 or so to attend their 3 or 4 party's? The price is really crazy, but I've always wanted to see this party. I'm planning to to go to Colombia for a week in May, I have several girls there to visit already, but would love your advice on this TLC tour.

Cali twice (2000, 2002) and Panama 2002). Also to Russia. I've had an
absolute blast at each. The videos show the way it is. The socials are truly
overwhelming (I just love to see the guys at their 1st social!) and of course,
you can't begin to talk to as many as you would like. You feel like a Dallas
Cowboy cheerleader at a biker bar.  But you bring a little notebook, choose a
few favorites, and hook up with them later. The comeraderie of the guys has
been great, the translators very good, if you need them. Nice hotels. I do feel
bad for many of the ladies, as there are so many to so few guys. We naturally
drool on the hotties and overlook some of the real gems. I don't feel $1000 is
all that outrageous (and, I think, a 20% forever discount on future products
and services). I still am in contact with ladies I've met on each of the tours.
Actually, I am visiting the family of a lady I met at a Cali tour next week. She's
married and in the US, but her family adopted me. If you go, I would leave a
couple of extra days after all the arranged festivities are over, you'll need the
time to do some sorting out. And there will be plenty of local, B & B agency
representatives hanging around at the socials if for some reason you crash
and burn. Bruce White is a straight-up guy as is the tour director Ray, if he's
still with them. Watch out for the little orphan girls they'll introduce you to.
They will steal your heart in a second.

Well if you want to go to the TLC party in Cali, you better change your plans because the TLC tour is in June not May.

I would expect that there would be anywhere from 300 - 400 women at the Cali parties in June. They are typically the biggest parties that TLC throws.

I can't remember ever paying the full price to get into a TLC party. Usually I manage to find three or four guys that want to get into the parties and then I sit down with Bruce and try to strike a deal. If you want to meet me in Cali in June I bet I can get you in to all the parties for $700.

I met the best bunch of guys that I ever met on a TLC tour last December. Hanging out with a bunch of guys that just don't know what they can really get in Cali has it's moments.

Some guys just take the first thing that fits the bill and go with it. Others want to see what is available as far as marriage agencies and that is were I come in.

One week in Cali is not enough. Add another week and you might actually make it happen.

I have not taken a TLC tour.  But, like you, I also have received many of their brochures, and I have their video.  I have even ordered their addresses a couple of years ago.  But, I did not receive that much response. You have to hope the lady will either speak some english, or can have the letters and emails translated; unless you already speak spanish.  I do not.  To tell you the truth, unlike yourself,  I was not attracted to the idea of a tour.  My personal opinion is that I could not possibly have the time to spend with each of the ladies that I might be interested in.  To me, it seems like a "cattle call", for the women.  I am sure they enjoy the company of the men, and certainly they probably enjoy the free food and drinks, plus the free photos that they get when they sign up. But, just how realistic is it to spend any quality time and really get to know a lady while you are there?  I can understand the appeal of seeing that many ladies all at once.  I guess you just have to be willing to pay the $1,000 for the privelege.  I certainly believe that I can do better by going to an agency with an office in the city I am going to; (which I did).  I am a member of Latin-Internet.  For $300, I get a lifetime membership.  That entitles me to going to the agency office and getting as many introductions as I want, as many times as I want. I don't know if you speak spanish.  Unfortunately for me, I do not, at this time.  So, it is really important for me to have the staff translate, and help with the appointments and introductions.  I can also make as man emails to the ladies as I want.  I have done that many times, and right now, I am writing to one particular lady that I have been corresponding with for almost 3 months. I am attempting to make my plans to go see her real soon.  But, in the past, I was writing to several ladies. As you know, this is a process that takes time.  I just like the more personalized service of an agency that actually has an office in the city that I am going to.  In my case, it's Cali. If this does not work out for me, I will probably go to Medellin and use the Colombian Sweethearts Agency there. The owner, Steve Valdez is an american guy and seems to be nice to.  I have a smaller membership with him, and I have talked to him by phone. These are just my ideas, but I have thought very strongly about going the TLC route.  I just personally don't want to go into a room full of strange women, and try to make sense of it all. I like the introductions more one on one, and not rushed. Now, if all you want is to have a good time, and you hve no intention of starting a relationship with a lady, then TLC would probably be a good deal.  Lord knows they have alot of women at their tour meeings.  So, I guess it's "to each his own".  Best of luck.
