In Costa Rica I met a gringo friend and we double dated, my wife and his pro.  I don't think my wife gave it much though or let it bother her at all.  People in the US are a lot more judgemental than most other people.  

They're just normal people who make more than almost all their peers, like Enron executives or members of Congress.

Most of the guys who come here are not chasing hookers.You make a good point.You wouldn't want to mix up hookers and your novias family.One guy even got married on my patio.You better believe nobody was allowed to bring any hookers by that day.
A little discretion is in order.Will anybody be offended?My present girl friend no,she is looking over my shoulder right now laughing.But one girl I dated before didn't like it.She was afraid she would get confused with the hookers by somebody,a good reasson to keep them out of the agencies.

Hi Pete, Like most things the truth is probably in the middle. I have no idea what the real numbers are for Colombia. The 50,000 figure in the article might be a span of a decade or more. But when even a "hold-out" nation like Japan finally signs onto some of these international anti-trafficking agreements (they got shamed into it, I think, because lots of horror stories emanated from there) then I don't think it's all just moralists or do-gooders promoting a cause du jour.

I have less sympathy for someone who is of majority age, unless, of course, they are drugged and held against their will. Perhaps intl. law enforcement should focus on how underage people are getting visas from third world countries to rich countries. It would seem govt officials are getting bribed/corrupted at both origin and destination.
