Fiance visa a one time shot?

The 90 day fiance visa is a one time deal right? My novia and I are both in agreement about wanting to get to know each other better before making any long-term commitments. We have been emailing and talking on the phone for 4 months, and I just spent 4 days with her in Barranquilla. I really like her and want to go to the next level. Here are my two options:

1) I go back to Barranquilla in December when we both have 2 weeks of vacation.

2) Bring her out here now on a fiance visa. She has agreed to come out here, but only if she can return to Barranquilla after one month, so she doesn't lose her job. Problem is, after she returns to Barranquilla, I can't bring her out again, can I? I think I would have to marry her in Colombia, then come back to California.

I really don't want to wait until December to see her again, but I don't want to use up the fiance visa either. Any suggestions?

Greg, I have some bad news for you.  Fiancée visas take awhile to get and it also takes a little bit of time to get the documents together necessary to apply for the fiancée visa so I very much doubt your girlfriend would be able to visit you even before you can visit her in December.  We have guys on this board who have been waiting more than 6 months since they applied for the visa and still don’t have it.

Wow! I didn't realize that it could take that long to get one. Well, I think I will visit her in December then. I know that she will be more comfortable with that, and I will get to meet more of her family this time. (She is the youngest of 15 kids in her family. All of her brothers and sisters are married with kids...)

Hi Greg,

Rather than using the K-1 for a one month trial period and have her return home, I would spend more time with her on her home turf and decide if this is the lady you want to spend the rest of your life with.  No offense, but I'm assuming you have spent time with her already because you said you'd like to see your novia "again" but if all you have done is email and talk with her via telephone you definitely need to go there and spend more time getting to know her.  I sure wouldn't pop the question after just one visit with a lady and for sure not if all I've done is have email and telephone contact with her.  These means of communicating are nice but don't replace one on one.  It doesn't sound like either of you are that sure about each other yet.

I did spend 4 days with her in June, but I definitely want to get to spend more time with her. I think we both are being cautious and have reservations about diving into anything, so it is probably a good thing. I just get impatient!

The more time you spend with each other, the more likely you won't rush into a possible mistake. Also, if she is "the one" the time apart will make the relationship stronger.

The fiancee visa alows for 1 entry to the US. If she leaves she can not re-enter with that VISA. It takes about 3.5 months to process.

As far as I know.  You can get another visa later but, you have to start over with the INS.
