... in response to Telephone and Internet service cost in C..., posted by elcolombiano on Jul 4, 2003Heck no, it's metered! So, even if you have Telesat, you still have to pay for the phone time. And, since Telesat is at best 52,000 kbs (Yeah right) you have to stay on the phone longer to download or check emails or whatever. It alos depends on what strata you live in. Watch out because you might live in a strata 4 area for services, but your phone might be strata 5 or 6. The higher the strata the more you have to pay for services. I don't even want to get into Commercial strata.
I have Uniweb which is a cable modem. I think its 290,000 a month for 3 Gigs of transfer a month. But, you also get Cablevision with that plan. There are cheaper plans with less transfer, but it's an arm and a leg if you go over your alotted amount of transfer a month. The modem you have to buy is 500,000 pesos no matter what plan you use.
My plan saves me money every month, because I dont have to use the phone and when you're in my business, phone time really adds up. The service is fast and very good.
BUT, UniWeb is not available in all parts of the city, so you'd have to find out prior to ordering.
Hope that helps you out.
