I am getting such a headache. First my Mexican girlfriend said the K1 would take to long after I told her it would take 4-6 months. At least that is what my lawyer told me. Then she says "I come in on tourist visa". I called my lawyer and asked if I could change her status from a tourist visa to some kind of spousal visa. He said it would be ok. Then I told her it was a go. She was happy about that. But we have to wait a month to see if her tourist visa gets renewed. I was told there is an 80% chance of renewal. Then she said "When I come in on tourist visa I am able to work right" Then I said in spanish "No sweetie, we have to get married to get your work papers, if you work on a tourist visa you could get in trouble with immigration and get deported" Then she said "How long to get the work papers" I said "a few months hun". Then she said "dios mio". Then I started asking about sex and she was like "well I have to be in love with you and that takes time, we have only known each other two weeks" and I was like "wait you want to get married but you will need time with sex". I mean I know I have only known her two weeks but then she told me "after we fall in love after a 2-3 months then we have sex" I was like "umm ok". I am basically going to lay it on the line tonight. I am going to tell her I will let her live with me 3 months and then get married, I am also going to tell her I need time to get to know her and also she needs time to learn english and it will be impossible to work on a tourist visa. I am going to do this thing legally and by the book and if she doesn't like it tough. She has basically told me over and over again "I don't want to be a housewife, I need to work, I am a very active person, otherwise I will get bored". Well she is going to have to wait a long time for those work papers to get threw so I hope she has patience because immigration is not exactly as fast as a McDonald's drive threw.
