to the guys that are married an hoda pack and cali vet, what do you guys tell your family and friends about how you meet your wifes. as for me i once i met that special someone. i don't plan on telling people that i met here in a marriage agency. american people will not understand most of all american women. i can here it now he had to go over sea because he could not handle a really women an 99% of the women saying this will be alone. as for my self i plan on telling people we met though a friend an leave it at that. my reason for this is that i would not want my wife to be at work an have her being call a mail order bride.i want her to be very comfortable in her new.an the best way to do that is just to blend in. people have small mind an pass there baggage off on other mostly being american women,an if they new so much on how to treat a man then there would not be a 70% marriage failure rate. all i am looking for in a women is 5ft 6 a big butt an a good attitude an someone who does not love an is not trying to keep up with the jones's.and once i find her i going to do what ever it takes to keep her happy an feel comfortable. i think the less people no the better.  very important note in no way am i ashamed of looking for a wife over sea's. looking for feed back an how your wife handle the question how did you meet your husband.

I just told my family the truth.I´m comfortable with what I did. They were very supportive, some were probably a little shocked, but when they met my wife they loved her.
You might want to be carefull if you have critical gossipy relatives and co workers, but for good friends and family just tell them the truth I would say.

Hello,

I agree in your approach to protect you and your future wife from constant jokes and put downs by not sharing the details about where and how and what time of day you met your future wife!

Even your possible children in the future will become part of the harrasmenent and jokes depending on what type of people you live around. There is no good reason to tell anyone your business concerning this, just like you wouldn't tell other people how much money you make or other things of a personal nature.

This is the kind of thing that could lead to violent confrontations to shut up such people trying to pry into your life, so it is best not to let them know your business in the first place so as to avoid these violent situations altogether.

Even with people you know closely they can betray your trust so at most saying "I met her while on vacation in South America" is all you have to say. Its not lying either.

You don't owe people your "business". There is no law that can force you to tell either.

On a slightly different note, if I can make an ok living in a place like South America, I would rather live there anyways as I think I would prefer it to US. This may be an option to some other guys too. Perhaps more gringos living there would create more of a better economy for them as well.

Peace.

Bolo,

Since I develop and design software tools for the internet market, I was thinking along the lines that if and when I went to Cali to find my wife, and I like it there, I was thinking that, just maybe, if my wife wanted to remain in Cali, I would definately live in Cali and come back to the United States once every Six months or so.  I know that that's hard for people to understand; being that I have never been to Cali.  Yet!

You see, with the internet, I could still order all my clothes, have them shipped to me internationally, and everything else, right over the internet and not miss a darn thing about shopping in the united states.

The internet is changing the way alot of people see themselves shopping, traveling, and even in the places that they want to live.

As a matter of fact, I just came back from http://www.papajohns.com/, 10 minutes ago, from ordering a pizza online.

Heck man, I don't feel like calling someone, trying to hear what they say over all the other people that they are working with, and come to find out when I get my order the whole thing is wrong!

So, I just order anything and everything that I can over the internet.

I still go to the malls and restaurants, but only for spectator and meal enjoyment purposes.

Also, being that all of my software products are internet based, all I do is deliver electons.  This means that I can do 100% of my business over the internet, which wouldn't interfere with my living in Colombia.

Now, all I will have to do is find out who is the best ISP in Cali and if they have high speed internet access(DSL or High Speed Cable Modems).

Peace,

Hilton
