Opinions needed badly ..........

Hi all,

How is everyone? Been a while since I have been over here. Glad to see Peter has his girl over here. Hope to here from him soon. Well, I have met a young lady that works in Makati City. She apparently lives in a town called Bulacan. This woman travels 5 HOURS EACH WAY TO WORK!! Does that sound like something one of these ladies would do? I need opinions please!! She travels 10 hours a day for a job. You could not pay me enough to do that. And she does little things on the side to make extra money. So she gets 2-3 hours of sleep a night. Sounds totally nuts to me. Do any of the ladies from the Phils have an opinion on this. I am freaking out about this. I just can't believe anyone in their right mind would travel that far for a job. And she is not making a huge salary. She says 700 pesos/week. 1000 is she works o/t. Please tell me lots of people over there do this kind of thing. Please. I like this girl a lot. Hope I am not being set up. You guys are the best here. Lots of great info. Thanks in advance for your help. And please pray for me!! Thanks. Take care all.

I showed this to my fiance, Alma, and these were some of her comments.

"oh i don't think that's true!"

"If i were her then i won't have to go to that work where i don't have time to sleep that's really foolish"

"you know if that's really true then she just earn 100 pesos a day and for that 5hrs. trip, a hundred pesos won't be enough for her fare"

"just imagine, taking a bus from Cagayan de Oro to Iligan is P80.00 one way and to think that it's just 1 and a half hour trip"

"i really think she's just fooling him so he will send her money"

Hi Timmy,

Your girl can take the Light Rail Train if she lives in Bulacan and works in Makati which would take her only about 30 minutes! I don't see why it would take her 5 hours - 1 way!!! Even simple arithmetic doesn't add up to that.  If she has a 9 to 5 job, she would have left her house at 4a.m. but at which time there is no traffic yet in Manila so it wouldn't take her 5 hours to work! At most it would only take an hour to Makati by bus or jeep at such an early hour. Or perhaps, 5 hours is her travel time to and from work (2.5 hours - 1 way) which is a lot easier to understand with Manila traffic. But then again, if she takes the train, then it should take her only 30 mins to an hour including the jeep ride to and from the train station.

Anyhow, it sounds like your girl is up to something...tsk tsk...And what is her job at P700/week? How does she have an access to internet? P700/week is way too low!

I believe Bulucan is in Metro Manila so travel to Makati should not take that long. I suppose if the roads were flooded it might take that long occasionally. Still it is a stretch.What does she do in Makati and is she online alot? Makati is of course the financial hub of the RP.Lots of offices,malls and hotels.Usually better pay in that area. 700/week sounds awfully low.

Don't write her off but find out a little more about this lady. IMHO

hi timmy! im gillian from cebu. I dont think she's telling you the truth. No girl in her right mind would travel 10 hours a day for only 700 pesos as her salary. i think the fare for her daily trip would range 35-50 one way. So that would be 70-100 round trip.This sounds like a scam to me. Maybe she's trying to have you pity her and send her money. just my opinion.

P700/wk is way under the minimum wage. Sounds fishy to me too.

Is she asking for financial help? It's always better to keep all mention of money out of the conversation for as long as possible. If she keeps mentioning her financial situation, be VERY wary!
