Hello every one and Ray,

My I-129F approval has come through on 14 Jan 04

21 Oct 03 Received I-190F 86 days later
Was approved 14 Jan 04

1- Guessing Interview date 24 March 04 70 days later total about 5 months
Is this a good guess?

2- What kind of instruction package is sent with the interview date?

3- When she finally gets the interview date how does the interview date coordinate with St. Lukes for her medical.

4- My friend who has gone through the K1 process years ago says that then she would get the interview date, then she was required to go and get her medical check up before the Interview date.  She was just to come in at any time before the interview date.   I am sure it is different now.   How is it done presently?

5- Also it is not clear to me that after the Interview how is the passport given back with the proper authorization?

I have heard stories of going through the Interview and getting the passport right after.   Or having to wait several weeks and being sent to her home by mail.

Right now I am not planning to go to the interview with her or go and fly back with her.

6- I know it is recommended to be there for the Interview, if I am not there would that cause a problem?

I have not sent her my Affidavit of Support waiting for the approval.   I will send it off along with some emails and snail mails she sent me.

7- Is there anything else I need to know at this point that might help me right now?

8- Maricel is waiting for instructions from me, is there something else she can do at this time?

Thank you
Peter Lee

She is no longer a teenager she is now 20 and in July she will be 21.   Woopdeedoo.  I will raise her by training her the way i want and not with an attitude like some have.   She has already copied lots of my ways already without me saying anything.   Just her humor needs a lot of work like yours Hum hehe.

Congratulations Peter! I told you your approval was coming soon… :-)

1. Mar 24th is probably not too far off for a guess. Most K-visa interviews will be on Fridays. Mar 26th may be a little early, but still possible. April 2 is probably more likely if I had to place a bet. Apr 9 is Good Friday so forget that one.

2. The packet with the interview letter is very similar to the K-1 packet. You can see a fairly recent K-1 packet here:

http://members.tripod.com/~wggta0/Kpacket.html

3. The medical at St. Luke’s should be first come, first serve. I would suggest that she have the medical approx 1 week before the interview, but definitely not less that 4 business days before. The medical usually takes 2 days.

4. It’s still done about the same way.

5. After the interview, they will send her passport with the visa and her big brown envelope by private courier, to the address she designates. It could take anywhere from 1 week to 2 months after the interview.

6. There is no need for you to be at the interview. 99.99% of the ladies do it on their own. You can send the I-134 stuff anytime, but don’t wait too long.

7. Is there anything else that you need to know that might help you right now? Yes. The patron saint of immigrants is Mother Cabrini. Start praying!

8. Is there something else Maricel can do at this time? See #7 above.

Hi Ray,
I was surprised how fast the approval came you were right.
You again cleared up all my questions and it is sure nice to have you around.  I don't know where I could go to see if what I am doing is on the right track.   Hope you can take some complimets.  I gotta say that you and hum and some of the others had me really spliting with laughter a few times.   For you some of this stuff is old news and can get boring so double thanks.

You're quite welcome Peter. That's why we are here, to help each other out. Well, most of us anyway.

I see that there are still some childish little trolls running amok with nothing better to do than make total asses of themselves in public... ROTFLMAO!

Better get that house cleaned up!
