Hi,

What's the going rate at an internet cafe around Manila these days?  Is it common for a Pinay to use a $ for pesos or a letter p?

"I don't have my own computer. I'am just renting a computer here which is $10.00/hour. Or sometimes i will call the library to book an hour to use a free computer."

Just trying to get an understanding from a new e-mail exchange. Wasn't asked for money, but was she was explaining pc availability.

The going rate is from PHP15-30 per hour to PHP1.00 per minute. And this includes voice and video chat.

Part of what I wrote in reponse: "I'm sorry about the computer thing, I guess I do not understand.  Computer time is expensive!  10 dollars and hour?  Thats more than some people here make an hour for work."

Drum roll....and no answer.

It's about P50 to p75 an hr at an internet cafe in Manila. It is much less in the small towns around p20 an hr or less.

She may have made a galant effort at converting Pisos to dollars, but in the translation got a decimal off.

Yes, unless she a GOLD DIGGER. If she means $10.00 she is lying.
