Exiting Ukraine

  Well My wife from Odessa, now has her green card and is planning to visit odessa soon. But she is nervous about returning because she did not have her passport stamp as required my Ukraine law.  We have received many different stories from no problems to being delayed from exiting for up to 3 months. i quess we will read all the advicxe and pick the best way for her to return.

Lets take a poll.

Fly from Kiev or a train: to Poland (pane or train)
Bribe 20 to 100 dollars or more.

I know many of you have had some experiance with this issue and many will someday have this problem, because tpyically you will recieve your visa and fly, because it can take 3 to 6 months to receive your exit stamp.

PS:  Hello Jack B. if you read this post my wife and me our going on our second aniversery this Feb. 13.  You probably remember me and my (Don and Olena) wife (Don and Olena)  from dinner in Odessa 10/00.

Safe thing to do is fly her through Moscow where she can use her Ukrainian passport to enter and exit Ukraine.  Remember, after March 1, going through Poland will require a visa from a Ukrainian citizen.  You're right, most of the time it's not a problem, but some people have reported problems.

My wife and daughter had no problem flying back (via Moscow) from Kyiv last summer. The guy at passport control even told her to have a good trip.

I don't think that it's a issue anymore but with US/Ukraine relations going downhill in a hurry it might become one again.
