Just got an email from the "A Foreign Affair" folks that there was a story on MTV talking about Russian Brides.  Aired at 11:30 PM Saturday (last night).  Think it was called "From Russian With Lust".  (The AFA folks sent in in plenty of advance notice, I just had not checked that particular email box in a couple of days.)

Did anyone catch it?

Pretty poor example of an amateur home video.  I don't watch MTV so I didn't know what to expect.  I read the posting on this forum and found MTV on the list of stations that my cable co. provides.  So filled with anticipation at 11:30 EST I sat before my TV.
The show focused on a very immature gentleman from FL.  He had, as the the Russian interpreter said, too much "self confidence."  The production was very focused on him and so chopped up it was hard for me to follow.  The star of the show was the young lady interpreter.  A very attractive, bright, and charming young lady.  The closest we came to any kind of plot or story was his lost jacket and how our Yankee Hero toyed with the interpreter's affections and than ignored her for "greener pastures."  It showed how hard it must be for the ladies who participate at these events to deal with the phony intense affection and then quick rejection.
It was positive in that we were told that the ladies were intelligent and not promiscuous.  They all seemed to dress well, fairly modestly.  Much better than the ladies shown in a FL bar.  That may have been a function of the weather though.  The FSU MOB phenomena was not treated unfairly I thought nor was the tour business.  Just my opinion of course.

I learned my lesson.  MTV will remain an unwatched option on my cable list.
