Yes, agencies can provide interpreters, but which agencies are scam agencies and which are not?  It's not always easy to know this.  I would like a reference from a guy from here that has used a particular one and liked them..

I have had some experiences with some not so honest interpreters before and it's not fun.  They can so easily screw up a good budding relationship if they want, and if they don't happen to be honest, it can be in their best interest not to have you hook up with a certain woman etc..

Call me paranoid but I have seen it happen, that's why I just want a reference if I can get one...

My interpreter in St Pete was less than honest.  I was paying at least twice as much for everything as the other guys.  She really took advantage of me the last night.  What really pissed me off was that she was going through Peterhoff with me and my date and said, I can be a guide or an interpreter but if you want both you will have to pay more.  I ended up with no money at all by the end of the day.  Every day the interpreters are making more money than the average Russian is in a month.  

Rough cost for the interpreter was $55 a day.  The EC owner said if I every have that happen again to let him know and she'll never work for him again.

I actually had an interpreter lousing things up with a woman I liked because she wanted to keep working by having me keep having to meet other girls!  One girl finally told the agancy manager that she thought that the interpreter was manipulating things and she got the interpreters butt fired!  Yahoo!!  When we got together with a different interpreter, it was amazing the BS that interpreter had been feeding both of us that wasn't true!  Really pissed me off!
