again

I was only trying to let the poster know that this is a problem with women with children and it has nothing to do with the fathers wanting to be with there children, it has to do with CONTROL.

There are some good fathers i am sure, but most woman with children do not have much contact with the fathers that i have spoken with

I have never known ANYONE in South America who would do ANYTHING to stop ANY member of their family from being able to have a life in the USA, regardless of the circumstances/relationship. I suppose there may be a few people who would, but I have never met one.

Yes, many Colombian "fathers" would be the exception.

I am with you on this and i have a daughter i would never let this happen either, BUTTTTT

this is another country with another culture and most of the fathers are not involved in there childs life and only will not sign the papers to control the woman and situation and not really care if they see the child or not. Its very common in colombia that the fathers have little or no interest in the children. SAD BUT TRUE, BUT I WOULD NOT LET MY CHILD LEAVE WITH ANOTHER MAN EITHER, BUT ITS A DIFFERENT WAY OF THINKING THERE

In my case, the children's father was dead. All we needed was his death certificate.

Sounds like the old Monty Python routine - was the guy hollering "But I'm not dead yet!"?
