... in response to Blues Brothers Party Photos, posted by Traveller on Feb 13, 2005I had never been to blues brothers before.I tried to find it when it was in its old location but missed it.
I really like the music there,particularly for a guy SOS,sick of salsa.Every other bar in Cali plays salsa it seems.Not here.Blues and rock with a driving beat,"Baby plaese don't down to New Orleans,I love you so baby please don't go" If you remember the driving guitar rifts from that one you get the flavor of it.Even played some Chuck Berry,it was fun watching Colombianas shake their butt to that.Even in the states I never went to a bar with music I liked so much.
The three little chica bartenders were right on top of it,but like Travelor said,the drinks were almost pure booze.After 2 beers,than a bottle of wine with dinner then 5 of Blues Brothers Cuba libres I was feeling no pain.Thats me at the end of the bar with a silly look on my face,3rd row down third from right.My little chica said I was not borachio because I was not stumbling or slurring my words.I never do anything wrong in her eyes,guess I ought to keep her.But it was a late morning and slow moving day around the Cali Casa today.
Peter who owns the bar is from Ireland,been in Cali like 10 years,super nice guy.He didn't get in any of the photos.
Drinks were only like 5000 pesos and you could buy a coke with each one and water them down for a normal drink.Now I see why its Travelors favorite bar.I won't point out other guys,let them do so if they want,but there were a number of guys from this board there.
