Since this board has been pretty dead except for some fun banter with westerngirl, I thought I'd bring up an old topic and see if I can add a few thoughts to it.
I noticed Carisse's post below where she says her husband is three years younger than she - Well, I'm in the same situation. My Asian wife is three years older than I, also. Now I have no problems whatsoever with age differences and believe you should find love whereever you can find it, but I wanted to point out some advantages to looking for women near your own age. Aside from the ego trip of being a 40something guy having a teenage looking sweetie on your arm, or wanting to start a new family and have several new children, picking a bit older person has some real advantages.
Since asian women don't age nearly as fast as their western counterparts you can rest assured, she'll always look younger than you (my wife sure does.) A more mature woman will be better equipped, life experience wise, to handle situations at home, and unless you have a home based business, you'll spend more waking hours away than home, leaving her to handle the affairs of the home. Next, often times older, divorced, or widowed women are often unmarriagable in their own countries so are sometimes more eager to do what it takes to find their soul mate. Call it desperation of you want, I like to think of it as taking a proactive approach. Finally, and maybe most importantly, sweet, innocent young girls sometimes have a snow white & prince charming outlook on life. I know it's less common in places like the Phils but a woman with some experience with boyfriends or a failed marriage, tends to put aside the fantasy and operate with a more realistic approach.
I just spent last Sunday with a 52 year old friend friend who just brought his 21 year old Mexican wife to the US. She's a doll and very sweet, but I wouldn't trade places with him for the world. And yes, I know anecdotal evidence isn't particularly valid with a sample of two couples, but it got me counting my blessings.
