     I hope everyone had a happy fourth of July, Greg
     had a good comment does the Captain need to be present
     for his wife interview at the Embassy.

Take this one on for a change Joe, I received an email from a russian lady friend here in the states yesterday, and the subject line was... "Happy Independence Day".  (Independence day? wuzzat?  Heck it's the 4th of July!)

Now, how many people that live here, actually think of that... "Independence" thing. (I sure don't). From whom?  England of course.  But to most it's just the 4th, and a recognized government holiday.  Nobody thinks of being independent from a government in England controlled by religious despots.

And it took a russian woman to make me see it for what it was again.

Go figure.

12 years mil/svc and I shoulda woulda coulda known and remembered that, but not!

Yep Joe that's my story and I ain't changing it. We're doing great, but it's been a little difficult because of the delays that I've had, to manage two households from stateside.  I've got no complaints whatsoever, and I thank God for what I have... daily.

Hi Dave,
     How's the weather in Fla. blazing hot I bet.
     What I can remenber after we got married.
     We filed for the visa, submitted the paperwork.
     And were given a notice to return for a interview
     we were interview seperatly in different rooms.
     After the interview process she had her physicial
     and her NBI clearance. I think after those
     procedures she was approved. About four month
     wait.  And the only marriage conseling I got was
     from the judge, no marriage classes. And that was
     only interview process we went thur. And never went
     thur a process of status adjustment on her visa.
     I read a post that someone just went thur the five
     year adjustment one his wife visa. Also my wife
     received her green card within a few days before she
     arrived in the states. The only delay was applying
     for her S.S. card.

Hey Joe,

It's friggin' hot down here! I heard it has been the same up there.  Being the cheap Scot that I am...I'm waiting for it to get even hotter before I have the aircons fixed in both of my cars. LOL

My wife was one of the few lucky ones that got her K-1 Visa without an interview in 2001, just before 9/11. The only interview she had was for AOS at the local INS office, with me sitting next to her. It was no big deal. The 3-6 month wait for the Green Card has now tuned into the 8-12 month wait. We will probably be filing to remove conditions before she ever sees the actual Green Card. LOFL (F=Friggin')

Hi Ray,
     And say hello to the wife for me,so what prove do
     you need to show the I.N.S. that a relationship
     exists.  What I can remenber that my wife and myself
     both were involve in the interview process.

Hi Joe,

It’s nice if the fiancé can fly over to attend the visa interview, but it’s certainly not a requirement. I think more guys did that in the past when the issuing of visas was more predictable. You fly over a few days before her interview, attend the interview together in the morning, pick up the visa in the afternoon, and fly back together the next day.

Now there are too many uncertainties. They no longer issue the visas on the same day but send them by courier when they get around to it. There have been an awful lot of “admin reviews” lately, for NSO and security checks or additional documents. Those can take a couple of months or more. Look what happened to Red!

They do expect documented proof of a genuine relationship, to insure that it isn’t a fraudulent visa scam, which includes correspondence, phone bills, photos, mushy love letters, money transfer receipts, etc...
